Frances Stewart Obituary

STEWART
FRANCES DARLINGTON, 96, of Northbrook, Chester County, PA died on February 26, 2008 at Jennersville Regional Hospital. She was predeceased in 1998 by her husband of 61 years, Capt. John Roy Stewart, USNR, Commanding Officer of US Naval Air Station Willow Grove in 1957 and 1958. Frances was born in the Germantown section of Philadelphia, daughter of Walter Darlington and his wife Maude. She is survived by daughter Margaret Perla of Delray Beach FL; son Charles Walter Stewart, with whom she lived; grandson John Lane Perla; his wife and 4 children; grandson James Perla Stewart, and daughter; sister Susan Graham; 11 nieces and nephews. Frances graduated from Germantown High School in 1930, and from the Philadelphia Museum School of Industrial Art in 1934. She lived in Philadelphia, Arlington VA, Coronado CA, Horsham PA, Haddonfield NJ, settling in Chester County in 1964, where she was an active artist, gardener, car follower of foxhunts. Contributions may be made to Green Street Monthly Meeting of Friends of Philadelphia, 45 West School House Lane, Philadelphia, PA 19144-2811. Funeral services, handled by KUZO AND GRIECO, were private at the Birmingham Lafayette Cemetery.
