It was a great pleasure to know Uncle Frank. He had so many great stories to tell. We are all so proud of him. I was honored to spend some of his last hours with him - bringing him Thanksgiving dinner, just sitting and talking. We'll miss you terribly.

I am forever touched by "Uncle Frank's" charm and love. He was more than a Great Uncle to me and the song that is Frank Guarrera will live on forever.
I'll be missing you Uncle Frank.

Valerie,
I was saddened to read of Mr. Guarrera's death this morning in the Chicago Tribune. As a child at Notre Dame School, I remember my mother being so excited to hear him sing; she was a great opera fan.
My thoughts and prayers are with you and your family.

I first heard Frank, as Rossini's Figaro, when I was nine years old, in Palm Beach, Fla. I had some discussions with him over the years, and found him to be a perfect gentleman. He would mail me albums of his to listen to.

My memories of Frank go back many, many years. A wonderful artist and an equally wonderful man.
May he reat in peace.

I had the great good fortune of seeing and hearing Frank in my very first visit to an opera house. The opera that evening was RIGOLETTO, the company was Central City (CO), the year 1957. Frank was the thrilling protagonist. At that time I had not contemplated pursuing a singing career. Little did I know then that, a scant 4 years later, I would make my Metropolitan Opera debut opposite Frank in COSÌ FAN TUTTE. On that occasion, and on many others we subsequently shared in FALSTAFF, SIMONE BOCCANEGRA, and CARMEN, I could not have wished for a warmer, more supportive colleague than Frank Guarrera. I shall miss him.

Your passing is truly the end of an era! I was 10 years old the first time I heard your voice and for the last 33 years I've been idolizing it! You've been an inspiration to me as a singer, fellow South
Philadelphian and Itaian American. You may not be here physically, but you certainly are the foundation of many!

Frank was a loving godfather to our son, Simon. We will all miss him dearly. Besides his beautiful voice, his laughter, humor and kindness will be remembered fondly.
