Please see this correction of the address of the Math Department at the University of Pennsylvania: the correct address is 209 South 33rd Street, NOT 23rd street.

Dear David:
Believing you may be an alum of Camp Kennebec, please accept my heartfelt condolences; you and your family are clearly blessed with wonderful memories of your dad--which you can cherish, and with which you will be strengthened in the days to come.
With warm regards,
Tom Fromson

Dear Mrs. Wilf & family-
I am sorry to learn of Professor Wilf passing. My condolences to all of you. Your husband & Dad was my undergraduate calculus teacher at Penn in the early 1980s. He was an excellent teacher- always challenging us to a new level yet available for extra help. All of you are in my thoughts at this most difficult time.
sincerely,

Dear Ruth,
Please accept my sincere condolences. I was Herb's last Ph.D. student. I can only imagine how hard it must be for you.
Only six months ago I lost my father. Now I lost my academic father.
Last time I saw Herb was several years ago, at a seminar at UPenn. We had a conversation after the seminar. He talked about immortality: making an impact that would leave a lasting legacy. He used that exact word: immortality. He already achieved it. His name is well known far beyond the Combinatorics community. Here, at Carnegie Mellon University, all mathematics and computer science students know Herb Wilf's name. There is no better way to impress them than mention that I was his student. This semester I will be teaching from Herb's Generatingfunctionology.
Ruth, I still remember your adorable house in New Jersey. You were the cutest couple I have ever met. I am so sorry for your loss. There are no words to describe how sorry I am.
Sincerely,
Irina Gheorghiciuc
