HERTA GROVE Obituary
HERTA (nee Levi), age 97, on January 24, 2014. Resident of Chandler Hall in Pennsylvania. Beloved wife of the late Victor Grove. Born in Altona, Ham-burg, Germany, to lawyer, Moses Levi, and his wife, Betty. One of her siblings was the late Walter Levy, President Kennedy's advisor on oil in the Middle East. She started a choir in England, the Great Missenden Choral Society, that is still in existence, and studied piano with Claudio Arrau, and taught piano in the Philadelphia area. She and her husband worked as interpreters for the State Department. She author-ed several books and wrote her own memoirs. She was passion-ate about nature and the countryside and lived near and fre-quently visited Fairmount Park.
A Memorial Service will be held at a later date. Contribu-tions in her honor can be made to Friends of the Wissahickon, 8708 Germantown Avenue, Philadelphia PA, 19118.

My life is richer to have known Herta and her husband Victor. Herta was a passionate teacher, a dedicated musician, an intriguing historian, whom I was privileged to have met and shared time. She will surely be missed. The choir of Angels in Heaven welcomed a Magnificent new choral director and beautiful soul.
