HIROSHI IWASAKI Obituary
Devoted partner for 26 years of John Howe. He is pre-deceased by his parents and brothers residing in Japan where he was born and educated. He came to America in 1976. His B.A. was in French Literature from Osaka University for Foreign Studies and his M.F. A. in Scene Design was from Boston University. At the time of his death, he was a Senior Lecturer in Theatre Design at Bryn Mawr College. In addition to his academic commitment, Hiroshi designed for many regional theatre and dance companies. His last work will be seen in InterAct Theatre Company's production of "Lidless," a play which will open in January, 2011, at the Adrienne Theatre, 2030 Sansom Street, the theatre space once occupied by the Wilma Theatre for which he did his first Philadelphia production in 1987. Please, no flowers. Contributions in his name may be made to Kimmel Cancer Center at Thomas Jefferson University Hospital. Arrangements are private.
