IRENE BLOCK Obituary
After graduating from Philadelphia High School she received a BA from the University of Pennsylvania as it became "officially" coed. Inducted into Philomatean Society, the first year they opened to women -- she became their first female executive officer, "Moderator," in 1951.
She was a founding member of Wissahickon Ski Club.
Ms. Block is survived by her partner of 28 years, Robert Woods, his daughter Heather and her husband and two children and a niece Hildie Block (Joel) and 2 great nieces, several cousins across the country, many many neighbors and friends. She will be interred at Chelten Hills Cemetery in a private interment. Family and friends are invited to her Memorial Service Sunday, 2:30 P.M. GOLDSTEINS' ROSEN-BERG'S RAPHAEL SACKS, 6410 N. Broad St.
