Age 77, of Newtown Square, and formerly of Malvern, passed away on July 11th, 2020. Beloved husband of the late Janet (nee Bonanno). Survived by his loving children James B. Adams, Jr. and Jennifer Adams; dear brother in law of Lisa Prinzo, Joseph Bonanno and Stephanie Basso.
After graduating Gettysburg College and serving in the Army as a first lieutenant, he had successful careers at both Scott Paper Company and Sunoco. In his retirement, James' passion was volunteering at the Colonial Plantation at Ridley Creek State Park, where he was the former president, and spent countless hours raising funds to ensure the longevity of the Plantation. He also enjoyed many travels around the globe and spending time at his second home in Avalon, NJ with his family.
Relatives and friends are invited to his Graveside Service on Friday, 11:00 A.M., at Philadelphia Memorial Park, 124 Phoenixville Pike, Frazer, PA 19355.
In lieu of flowers, contributions to the Colonial Plantation at Ridley Creek State Park, 3900 N. Sandy Flash Dr, Newtown Square, PA 19073 would be appreciated.

I had the privilege of knowing Jim. As the Activity Director at White Horse Village, we planned a wonderful, free program for White Horse Residents to attend his beloved Colonial Plantation. I will remember his fun loving personality, he was always the first one to wave and say hello! He was loved and will be missed. My condolences to his family whom he spoke so fondly of.

Dear Jen and Jimmy, I had privilege of working with your Dad for many good years at Sunoco. I enjoyed staying in touch via the Sun Alumni Group and our monthly luncheon "meetings" on HR alumni known as the "Posse". He always spoke highly of his Family and was very proud of you two. We were all impressed with his work at Colonial Plantations which I visited with him as tour guide. Jim was a great neighbor and a wonderful friend to my husband Harry and me. Over the years, he offered us sound advice about contacts for repairs or investments. We could always trust his judgment. Harry and I regarded Jim and Janet with much respect and admiration. They were worthy examples to all of us of honest, caring and god-fearing people. Jim was a devoted father and husband, and he was meticulous in caring for his home and property. He is now with Janet, and that knowledge brings me great joy!

I was truly blessed to have called Jim a colleague and friend. His firm but gentle manner endeared him to all, as well as his love of life and dry sense of humor. He had a wonderful whole-body laugh and some of the very worst jokes and puns!
