Jim and I were summer police officers in Wildwood back in the sixties. We became close friends. My Gastro doctor Troum was trained by Jim. I just learned that Jim had passed a year ago. Sorry to hear that.

Dr. Giudice was more than a pulmonologist to me. I have been a patient of his since the late 80´s. He took exceptional care of me during my entire life, but nothing like when I was pregnant. I had a high risk pregnancy, bad lungs and heart, high blood pressure and the list goes on. Dr. Giudice always said he was more nervous than me during my pregnancy. He called our daughter the miracle baby because he knew what it took to have her arrive safely! We always talked about so many things in our lives (from past to present) and was always like a father to me. He cared whenever I was in the hospital and made sure to visit me when he was there. His care for me was beyond compare and it felt like I lost a family member when I heard of his passing. I´m sending my deepest condolences to his family. My heart hurts for all who knew and loved him. RIP Dr. Giudice...thank you for all you´ve done for us and we will miss you terribly.

My deepest condolences to the Guidice family. I feel truly blessed to have been a student, intern and resident to have trained under "Chief". Some of my fondest memories of those years involved rotations on Pulmonary Medicine. I will never forget how he would hand out an article from one of the journals to each of the students and tell them to know what was written in the article. He would later ask a question about something in the article to the fellow, resident and intern before giving the student the opportunity to show what he learned. This taught the students to stay current with the literature. I also recall Sunday morning football games in which "Juice" would quarterback a team of select residents to beat up on the Interns. I couldn't wait until I was a resident so I could be on his team. He will truly be missed as a mentor, as a sports enthusiast and as a person.

Such a pleasure working with Dr Giudice for 13 years. He always had a smile on his face n the most caring heart. He will be missed dearly by all who had the pleasure of knowing him. He used to call my dad Superman when in fact he was a true Superman. Thank you all for sharing him with us. My deepest condolences to all of you.

Thanks chief for creating the best residency program in the profession. You taught me not just how to be a great physician but instilled a strong moral and ethical compass that influenced my career . You ( and Lou Papa ) made it possible to have a successful 36 year career and affect the lives of many.
I still remember meeting for the first time , interviewing for the residency, in your office . You convinced me that you had the best program in osteopathy, not DOH . You were so right . As a result , Rick Elkin, Ralph Avedesian, and I became part of the first residency class involving the 3 hospital system.
The experience changed my life and I am forever grateful.

He was my doctor and a friend. He never forgot Larry (Nogle) many years after Larry retired. All the words have been said about what a special man he was but the one that will remain for me is how much he remembered the special people in his life. Something we all should do. I will miss talking to him.

My deepest condolences to all of Jim’s family. Jim was one of my Mount Rushmore of mentors and educators, the best of the best. Beyond being colleagues for 40 years, we were friends, sharing golf, cigars, wine and devotion to our patients and families. I will miss him greatly.

As the first generation of NJSOM med students, then interns at JFK, we were looking for mentors and role models. The Juice gave us both in one impeccable package. While he will be greatly missed, his presence will be felt for years to come as the wisdom and the humor he imparted continue to be passed down and fondly recalled. A true original - and just what we needed when we began our careers. Farewell, Chief - I'm sure the celestial dress code includes loafers and no socks.

I´ll never forget learning from Dr. Giudice as a medical student. He was amazing, and I still remember learning how to read chest X-rays with him as a brand new rotator on clinicals. He was professional, knowledgeable, kind, and compassionate. I´m sorry to all of his loved ones. But I´m thankful to have had the chance to learn from such a legendary physician.

My condolences to the family . The loss is staggering for all those that participated and shared in anyway or anytime with his life. I have had the distinct pleasure of being his friend for over 40 years, it was so easy. We competed athletically with such intensity but it always ended with a smile and a handshake. Goodbye my friend, thank you for our friendship

Dr. Guidice was an unforgettable individual. I was blessed to have known him as a mentor and teacher. His zest for life and the practice of medicine was infectious. Anyone who met him came away with an admiration of his leadership and knowledge. These abilities were tempered with kindness and loyalty. Decades after completing my fellowship I still think back to Dr. Guidice and how he would handle a particularly difficult situation. The number of students, residents, and fellows that he positively influenced over his long career is incredible. Thank you Dr. Guidice for your influence, guidance, and knowledge! You will be missed by many!

My heart sank when I received news of Dr Giudice´s passing. "The Chief" was larger than life and he will be forever in my heart. I had the distinct pleasure of meeting him as a visiting medical student, and I stayed on to become his resident and his pulmonary fellow. He wasn´t just "the chief", he was a mentor, a role model, and a friend.
I´ll never forget his stories about Wildwood, meeting The "Geeter with the Heater", or his love of Bobby Darren and Frank Sinatra. I´ll never forget his loafers with no socks, his impeccable suits, and his larger than life smile. "The chief" was a family man and was wildly proud of all of you. I know because I loved hearing all the stories.
Most of all I´ll never forget the amazing man he was. He was brilliant, kind, loyal, and truly a hero to so many people both far and wide.
I owe the start to my entire career to Dr. Giudice. He took a chance on a kid from PCOM who said he wanted to be an pulmonologist, and I can only hope I´ve gone on to make him proud. His lessons will stay with me forever. The world as lost a true legend and I am better for having known him.
Rest in Peace Chief,
Bill Adams

Our thoughts and prayers are with all of you. Can picture him with a cigar in his mouth. Fond memories of when the boys played football and the rehash of the games. His devotion to his family and his patients set a high standard for everyone else.
