The years have passed however, our thoughts of this dear man have not waned nor grown dim. How could they? My brother's smile lit up a room, just as our mother's did. They were very much alike in the ways that matter most to the people around them. Dear, dear people that are missed profoundly.
Now, we who loved them, Mom, Jim, and our sister Bett, remember them fondly. One thing each of these precious folks did was engage in inciteful conversations. In thoughtful conversation they could broach a subject with you and in the end, your world seemed a better place. The problem was solved, if not solved it didn't seem quite so horrible . Hugs, too, were also welcome from them. Somehow their hugs were extra special . So blessed were we to have these precious precious people in our lives even for what seemed, just a little while.
Thank You heavenly Father for giving us to one another in family. God's grace be with whomever reads this. ❤❤

In the bigger picture, this is a testimony as to how many lives can be touched by just one life; one simple, unobtrusive, life well lived. How blessed we all were to be part of his family, of his life. Gone from this planet- yes. Gone from our hearts- never, ever. Heaven is a beautiful place; there is no allowance is made for pain or sadness . Memories become even more precious as time passes. There will, one day, come a time for reunion with those who have gone on before. As with all reunions, with those we love, that day will bring joy beyond compare. Until then, we carry the memory and essence of our loved ones in our hearts and in how we live. We honor their memories by living the best life we can. Thank You heavenly Father for lending these dear people to us for awhile.
God's grace be with all who are reading this. Amen

What I remember most about Jim was him walking me to school 1 st grade was scary but Jim was reassuring. Waiting up all night for him to get home on leave for Christmas. He was better than any gift Santa could leave. He rarely got angry not even when I trash picked his old ties and sold them to the neighbors. Oops. Seeing his face glow when ever he talked about rose, the day they got married was magical. It was the 1st wedding I was in so I thought it was all about me right. Jim looked so handsome and Rose looked beautiful. We talked about the reception for years. I could go on and on but the bottom line is that from the time Jim was a boy family and friends meant every thing to him I want to thank rose for allowing us to be part of his final days. And I thank God for blessing me with a loving family. Thank you Jesus and see you soon Jim

I always admired Uncle Jimmy, he was had a way of making you feel special in a crowded room. He was my God Father and only at his funeral did I learn that he was the God Father to a few people. I always thought I was his only God Child because he made me feel like I was. He could be as loud as his brother's but he also had an extreme calmness about him. You know if he just flashed his smile that things would be fine. We are all better for knowing and being related to him. Family meant everything to him and he made us all feel like close family. Rest in peach Uncle Jimmy we love you.

Growing up my mom always said how much she admired Uncle Jimmy and Aunt Rosie's Marriage. It's something that always stuck with me, so on the many family parties and gatherings I would study how Uncle Jimmy carried himself, how he treated his kids, family, and his wife. Uncle Jimmy seemed to know how to handle people and conversation. He had an inclusive personality, he was the kind of person that would always circle a room and make sure to talk to everyone. I remember as a kid my brother Greg getting gifts for his birthday from Uncle Jimmy and Aunt Rosie. I would get upset that I didn't get stuff from them too (I didn't know he was greg's godfather or what that even meant). Looking back, I wasn't upset my brother received gifts and I didn't. I was just jealous that I didn't have awesome godparents like Uncle Jimmy. He made such an impact on everyone's lives in every Heisler household and I am saddened I won't get to talk to him again, but it makes me happy that he is in heaven now laughing it up with Aunt Betty. I Love you Uncle Jimmy and Aunt Rosie.

Wow, what can I say that hasn't already been said. So many warm and wonderful things said about this dear dear man.
I was blessed to be his little sister. A sweeter kinder older brother I could not have had. As others have stated, he always made me feel important to him.
As I stood by his grave site, I watched as the many many people were walking over the grass to join us. I was thinking how blessed we all are to have been part of his life. I remembered the day we met Rose. We liked her immediately and grew to love her as our sister. I stood looking into the face of one of Rose's sisters. Then it dawned on me, she loved my brother as if he were her very own brother, just as I love Rose as a sister. All of the Fox family loved my brother just as if he were truly their brother. They were feeling the same pain as I. But, how wonderful is it when two families come together and grow to love like that. It's truly truly a blessing.
Before Jim passed my sister Mary and I spent several hours at his bedside with the family. Rose was so considerate to include us even at that very difficult time. It was so beautiful because, love,
pure love permeated that room. The love just engulfed me and I
thought how very blessed my brother has been, and is, to have such a loving family by his side every step of the way. This dear dear man, with this beautiful loving family.
And this is his legacy, this beautiful family. God bless you all
with His grace.
My heart and prayers are with you all, Nana

Rose, I met you & Jim around 45 years ago when Mae & I were planning a shower for Donna before her wedding to John. To the Heisler Family,
We have all been blessed to have had such an incredible example of what it means to live life well by Uncle Jim. To love and to care, to teach and to guide, and an occasional "look" that made us think twice about the decision we were about to make. Uncle Jim made every single one of us feel like we were his favorite...such an amazing quality. We will miss him dearly.
We love you and will hold all of you close in thought and prayer.

Rose, Jimmy, Joseph, Rosemary, John and Katie, please accept our sincere condolences. Many people have many friends but few have real friends as we had with you. Reading these other condolences are so true. Jim had an easy way with himself and others, especially his laugh :-) It was infectious.
I count our many blessings and one of which is your friendship. Its been about 46 years since Mick and I knocked on your door for Halloween with our Michelle in arms. Its been a pleasure meeting up with you guys around Halloween and as the years progressed there were showers, weddings, parties, etc. that we got together. And always there were our good friends to share our lives with. Thank you, Rose! Jim will be sorely missed by us but when we get together we'll raise a cup of tea (of course after the tea kettle was done singing to the neighborhood) in his honor.
We love you Heislers!

To the Entire Heisler Family,
My words cannot express my deepest sympathy to everyone especially Rose...the true love of Jim's life!! My thoughts and prayers are with you all during this most difficult time. I can recall so many fond memories we had on Rawle Street watching our children grow up and them playing with each other especially during the summer months. I recall Jim coming down the street each night from work with a smile on his face and gratitude in his heart because he knew he was heading home to his beautiful family. Jim just had that infectious smile that brightened up a room and he ALWAYS made family and friends feel special. That was one of the many gifts that Jim possessed. Jim will always be remembered as a true gentleman and friend and his kindness, gentle spirit, and love for his family and friends will carry on in each of us for the remainder of our lives. I was blessed to have known Jim and to call him my friend. My love and prayers to you Rose and your family! I am a phone call away!
With Love,

Rose and Family, Rose, Jim must be smiling down at you thinking of all the loving care you gave him over the past eighteen months. He knew he could always count on you! You never left his side which was such a comfort to him. He was one proud dad and grandfather knowing you kids were always there when he needed anything or to just be by his side. He set a great example for all of you. Everyone could see he loved his family more than anything! Jim was a great Brother-in-law. He was the glue to keep us together. We all have great memories of him especially his laugh! Its hard to put into words how much he will be missed by all of us. He will be forever in our hearts! I know he isn't suffering anymore and at peace. I just hope Rosie and the family always feel his presence where ever they are! Love all of you! Janet and Tom

Uncle Jim's laugh continues to echo through my mind. It was both powerful and genuine, much like the man who produced it. That booming lively expression was capable enough of shattering the tensest of moods.
Like any of his siblings, Uncle Jim's presence would command a room even if he wasn't at the center of the conversation. For me as a child, Uncle Jim seemed like a giant who knew how to hold court at family gatherings. As I grew older, I learned what the real attraction was for those who participated in those boisterous circles.
Uncle Jim knew how to listen. Not only would he listen to the simplest of stories, but he would also absorb every word resulting in a very engaged conversation because he truly did want to hear what you had to say. And listening to the youngest members in those crowds is one thing that he excelled at the most. Sure, sure, Uncle Jim would sincerely say in agreement to a pointless point that I would make as I inserted myself into an adult conversation. To which he would follow-up with a question to keep me engaged and our conversation going; and when appropriate, he would insert a joke or find something funny within our banter to say as a way to keep the conversation upbeat. And yet again, we are right back to that laugh which was always at the ready when the right moment presented itself. Just thinking about it makes me smile.
The kindness and thoughtfulness that Uncle Jim and Aunt Rose exercise, gives understanding to why we enjoy being around them. Aunt Rose, Uncle Jim will never be forgotten. His qualities and traits continue to shine through in the family that you both helped grow. And that joyous laugh will forever echo on.
We continue to keep the entire family in our thoughts and prayers. With all of our love, Eric, Megan and the kids.

Rose, you, Jim and your family were like my second family growing up. And you all hold a special place in my heart. Many of my fondest memories include you and Jim teaching us a life lesson , while you both had your tea and Rosie and I ate our ice cream from Tupperware bowls at the kitchen table. Another memory that most reminds me of Jim is Anne Murray and everytime I hear her voice I think his voice saying " hi Mel"! He was such a great father and a true gentleman and I, as well as many others, will miss him. Thank you both for a childhood filled with fun and love and most of all my best girlfriend. I love you all xoxo,

I remember one summer when i had poison ivy all over my face your dad and mom told me to come and use your pool because the chlorine dries out poison ivy they were a godsend that summer... I also remember this tree on your mom and dad's property line on Rawle st side and your mom used to come out and tell me to get down because she was always so worried that I would fall out and get hurt and I didn't listen so before I know it your dad was out there with a saw and cutting down that branch that I used to use to climb up the tree but little did they know I used to use the cars to get back in that tree.
