Jane Dalton

Dalton Jane (nee Sunderland) Age 72, of Lower Gwynedd, PA, went to heaven on October 3, 2023. Born on April 21, 1951, in Philadelphia, PA, she was the beloved wife of 44 years to Stephen, and the most incredible mother to Lauren Rafter and Andrew. Jane, daughter of Howard and Catherine (Simon) Sunderland, was raised in the West Allegheny section of Philadelphia with her "much older" sister Kathleen, as she always loved to call her. She graduated from St. Hubert's High School before going to work at Girard Bank. She met Steve, the love of her life, on St. Patrick's Day in 1978, and they married shortly after in May 1979. After getting married, she enjoyed over 30 years working in medical billing at a local dermatology practice with the best team, the "Derm Divas."To know Jane was to love her; it was impossible not to. Her greatest joys in life were her family, her grandsons Ryan and Conner Rafter, her dogs (Rascal, Morgan and Luna), her countless friends, trips down the shore with "the girls," hosting the annual Dalton Eagles party, the Foulke Road dinner club, bocce games with the Foulke Legends, dancing the Bristol Stomp to the oldies, reading her romance novels, and simply enjoying all life had to offer. The love and laughter she gave to everyone who met her were infinite and will continue in heaven with all those who eagerly welcomed her–her mom, dad, her cherished friend Anne Marie, and many others. Preceded in death by both parents, Jane is survived by her husband Steve, daughter Lauren Rafter (Tim), son Andrew, grandsons Ryan and Conner, sister Kathy Wilson, nephews Todd and Stephen Wilson, and an enormous circle of friends. The family will hold a celebration of Jane's life on Tuesday, October 17th, from 10 A.M. to 11:30 A.M. at URBAN FUNERAL HOME, 1111 S. Bethlehem Pike, Ambler, PA, followed by a Funeral Mass at 11:45 A.M. at St. Anthony of Padua Parish, 259 Forest Avenue, in Ambler. Burial will be held privately.
