A lovely woman who totally understood the power of a heartfelt thank you note! With Media Elementary School, my family has delivered thousands of origami cranes to Riddle Hospital as part of the Martin Luther King Jr Day of Service over the years. Jean was the one patient who reached back with a lovely thank you note. It meant so much to us! So lucky to be introduced to such a sweet family.

A most amazing mother! From a very young age, I was a good friend of daughter Sally and therefore spent many pleasurable hours at the home. Jean would drop whatever she was doing to help us on one of the multitude of projects we dreamed up. I remember her being in the middle of what seemed like dozens of loads of laundry (it added up with four kids) and interrupting it with never a complaint to assist us in making costumes or stage sets or whatever we needed. One time she told us that walking in sand was good for the feet. We of course wanted to try it, so she made a "sandbox" for us in the garage to see if it worked. She made parenting four children--and all their friends--seem totally effortless, because she shared her love for life with us. She encouraged our creativity and ENJOYED us, for which I am eternally grateful.
