WOOD JEANETTE A. Age 85, passed away Wednesday, October 29, 2025. Born February 27th, 1940, in Grand Rapids, MI, a daughter of the late Frank Joseph and Dorothy (Vincevicz) Andrews. Jeanette better known as Jean, graduated college from Michigan State University and soon after moved to Chicago Illinois and then to New York City where she met her husband of sixty-one years Dick Wood who was visiting New York with his fraternity brothers from the University of Virginia. Jean and Dick married on May 9th, 1964, and lived in Center City Philadelphia before they built their family home in Wawa Pennsylvania where they lived from 1968 until present day. Jean enjoyed playing golf and bridge and was passionate about nature, wildlife and gardening, Jean was a member of the Philadelphia Garden Club and Gulph Mills Golf Club in King of Prussia Pennsylvania. In 2003 Jean began wintering in Florida with her husband Dick where they had a home at the Mountain Lake Club in Lake Wales Florida. Jean loved spending time and being charitably supportive of the beautiful Bok Tower Gardens, which is the highest point in Florida and adjacent to the Mountain Lake Club. Jean was an excellent scratch cook but was adamant everyone stayed out of her kitchen, which was fitting for her fiery personality. Jean enjoyed singing with friends, being first on the dance floor and could be seen sipping vodka martinis with her closet friends. Jean treasured having family at home for all holidays, a tradition that continued with her children and grandchildren. Jean was a dedicated and steadfast wife, mother and grandmother, a role she flourished in and cherished even later in life when dementia began to take away her short-term memory but not her long-term love of family and friends. She will be dearly missed. Jean is survived by her husband, Richard D. Wood, Jr.; a daughter, Lisa A. Wright (New Canaan, CT.); a son, Richard and daughter-in-law Tara Wood; five grandchildren, Alexander Wright, Charlie Wright, Davis Wood, Lucy Wood and George Wood and several nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her four siblings, Frank, Louie, Edward and Margaret. Relatives and friends will be invited to a Celebration of her Life to be held at a later date. Arrangements are under the direction of CAVANAGH PATTERSON FUNERAL HOME, 43 E. Baltimore Ave., Media, PA. In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to either the Bok Tower Gardens in Lake Wales, Florida, (
