JOAN PONTON Obituary
JOAN G., 80, of Ocean City, NJ and Juno Beach, FL, raised in Wyncote, PA and formerly of Media, PA passed away unexpectedly Saturday, August 14, 2010 in Palermo, NJ. Surviving are her husband: John "Jack" Ponton, Jr. of Ocean City, NJ and Juno Beach, FL, two daughters: Virginia "Ginger" Sack and her husband Frank of Senoia, GA, Victoria P. Bracey of Rivieria Beach, FL. Also surviving are 3 grand-children: Derrek, Alyssa and Ethan, a sister: Marjory Merscher of Arroyo Hondo, NM and a brother: Kent Garson and his wife Dee of York, Pa. A Service of Memory and Love will be offered Friday morning at 11 o'clock from Union Chapel by the Sea, 55th St. at Asbury Avenue, Ocean City, NJ where friends may call from 9:30 until 10:45. Burial will be private in Eglington Cem., Clarksboro, NJ. The family suggests those who desire send memorial contributions to either Union Chapel by the Sea, Ocean City, NJ 08226 or Holy Spirit Lutheran Church, 13301 Ellison Wilson Rd., Juno Beach, FL 33408. Dear Jack,
Charlie and I just learned of Joan's death. Needless to say it was a very sad shock to us. Although we have not seen each other in recent years, we have fond memories of times shared in the past. Our thoughts and prayers are with you and the family.

Dear Mr. Ponton,Ginger and Vicky, Wow! what a trubute to Mrs.Ponton. To see so many people at the service and luncheon only confirmed what an amazing person she was, not only to her family but others as well. We have so many memories of her. 56 st in OC will not be the same. To walk by the house and not hear a friendly word from her will be difficult. My heartfelt condolences to all of you. The picture you chose truly reflects her classy, bubbly outgoing personality that was the life of the party just like the old days at Copsey's with "the crowd from OC". I tried to put a date on that but it just seems like forever. I sincerely hope that all of those beautiful cherished memories help you through these most difficult times, you're in my thoughts and prayers.

Jack, Audrey and I are terribly saddened by the death of Joan. Joan's everpresent smile and good words made Brigadoon a special place. I know that you and your family will take some small measure of soalce from the fact that Joan was so adored by all who knew her.

Dear Jack & Family - To say I was shocked to hear of Joan's death is putting it mildly, and to see the newspaper article entitled Elderly Woman--that really threw me. NO WAY was Joan elderly--she was so vivacious and enthusiastic about life, her faith, and her family. I'll never forget the great parties, especially when she was the hostess for "the girls" in Florida.
