I am so saddened by the untimely passing of Dr. Capelli. I just heard about his death from Joan Solanchick. Dr. Capelli and I worked together on medical research for the past 30 years. He was truly a great man and a great researcher. Way beyond his huge influence on dialysis in Camden, and in NJ as a whole, his influence in dialysis was world wide. He was an invited speaker on ESAs at the FDA where they called on his medical expertise to guide them through some difficult decisions. We shall all miss this great and brilliant doctor.

My Prayers and condolences to the family. I worked with Dr. capelli at Our Lady of Lourdes. he was well respected. I enjoyed the knowledge that he brought to the hospital.He will be misseed, better i know that God has a better plan.

I was saddened to hear of Dr. Capelli's death. He was my nephrologist when I was 17 years old (42 years ago). He was, and has remained my favorite doctor of all time. I was just wondering about him a few weeks ago... is he still working, etc. Anyway, after all these years, I want his family to know what a great doctor and human being he was. I will never forget him.

Tommy Metts here , I was Blair Murphy's Associate for 32 years in Haddonfield, and wa s investigator for Camden County Medical Examiner's Office for 14 years. I spoke to John many times and he was not your typical physician for that time, he gave me his private number and I don't thin he had a cell phone at the time. he was always there if I needed any questions answered at Lourdes, as was Barbaa Holfelnor. Most Physicians, would say call the Answering Service, and hoe they get back to you the next day, not John Capelli, Also David, and Blair Todd and John Rabkin grew up in the Funeral Home, David will probably remember me as Uncle Tommy. He was always a gentleman and was included in any of the FH arrangements . Dr Capelli was not you everyday doctor and his name should ring a bell with any website that is printing his obit

I had the honor of being Dr.Capelli's MA for a few years at his Haddonfield practice. He was so loved by all his patients and was a dedicated physician. He taught me so much and was always very kind. My heart goes out to his entire family whom I know that he loved so very much.

We would like extend our deepest sympathy to Dr.Capelli' s wife and family. He was a brilliant physician that comes along once in a lifetime. He cared for our father from 1977 until his death in 2010. His excellent care as well as compassion he saw our family through many difficult health issues. Dr. Capelli will missed in the medical community. Rest in peace to a great man.

I was saddened to hear of the death of Dr. Capelli. I was 17 years old back in 1971 when my family doctor referred me to him. Because of his great care, I avoided dialysis. Now I am almost 60 years old, thanks to Dr. Capelli. Rest in peace! SM

I am heartsick to hear of Dr. Capelli's passing. I worked with him at OLOL for 5 years, he was my boss. To this day I describe him at "the best boss I ever had . He stayed out of my way and had my back- what more could you ask for? In exchange he forever had my undying loyalty. As some others have said-no accomplishments (of which there were many) could hold a candle to his family. You are in my thoughts and prayers

My deepest condolences to the Capelli family. I was John's roommate for four years at Villanova and four year classmate at Jefferson. I always admired and looked up to him. A great man has departed from us. Rest in peace, John.

Dr. Capelli was my husband's doctor when he had kidney disease in the 70's and 80's and we had so much respect for his knowledge and ability. I will never forget how he affirmed and supported my difficult decision not to continue to administer my husband's dialysis in our home. May God's peace be with his family in their great sorrow.

I was truly saddened to have heard of the passing of Dr. Capelli (or JPC as we used to call him!) I had the pleasure of working quite closely with him as the executive assistant at HMSO/LMA for 2+ years. He had a vision and knowledge that I truly respected. I enjoyed spending time with him after we both left Lourdes. May his memory be forever a blessing to all of you.

Dr Capelli most definitely made a positive difference in this world. Many years ago I worked as an RN at Lourdes. Many fond memories. He could be tough but it was ,most often ,appropriately directed. My condolences to his family. Virginia Talbot

Dr. Capelli was truly a Renaissance man - quite brilliant and innovative. I had the pleasure of working for him at Lourdes for 9 years. With all of the accomplishments, achievements and honors he received, I recall him telling me that the best of all was being married to Pat. My condolences to the Capelli family.
