John Carroll Obituary

CARROLL JOHN M., 71, of Hilton Head Island, SC, died Thursday at the Hilton Head Medical Center and Clinics. He was born on Nov. 17, 1930 in Phila., PA and is the son of Beatrice Higgins Carroll of Phila. and the late Michael Thomas Carroll. He attended Holy Family Roman Catholic High School and LaSalle College. He was a United States Navy Veteran. He retired after 40 years as General Merchandise Manager of Sears. He was a member of the Holy Name Society in Phila. Besides his 105 year old mother, he is survived by his wife, Teresa O'Donnell Carroll, 4 daughters, Marie T. Shiroma of VA, Suzanne Lampe of PA, Kathleen Difato of FL and Bernadette Wesley of MN, 2 sons, John M. Carroll of MD and Michael Carroll of MN, 3 brothers, Michael Carroll, Martin Carroll and Thomas Carroll, 2 sisters, Beatrice Brennan and Catherine Orth and 15 grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a brother, James Caroll. Friends will be received from 4 to 6 P.M. Sunday, at THE ISLAND FUNERAL HOME AND CREMATORY, Hilton Head Island, SC. A Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10:30 A.M. Monday at St. Francis by the Sea Catholic Church. Memorial contributions may be made to St. Francis by the Sea Catholic Church, 45 Beach City Road, Hilton Head, SC 29926.
