John Follman Obituary

Follman John Philip, "Jack" Born July 16, 1937, passed away peacefully at his home in Radnor on September 18, 2025, surrounded by his family. Jack was the second child of K. Elsie (nee Ogden) and George Herman Follman. He is reunited in heaven with his wife of 63 years, Mary Patricia, with whom they shared 7 children: John Jr. deceased, Patricia (Douglas Saylor Sr.), Joseph deceased (Lisa), Therese-Cecilia, Eric (Nancy), Erin (Kyle Campbell) and Neal; 18 grandchildren: Douglas Saylor Jr., (Lizeida), Mary Patricia Saylor, Philip Saylor (Hilary), Alexander Ramondo Sr., John Follman III, Steffen Ramondo, Brynne Follman, Kenneth Ramondo, Eric Follman Jr., Hannah Follman, Cassie Follman, Moira Follman, Nikki Ramondo, Emma Follman, Luke Follman, Ian Campbell, Kiera Campbell and Nolan Campbell; 9 great-grandchildren: Mollie Saylor, Ryan Saylor, Eloise Saylor, Alexander Ramondo Jr., Maria Patricia Saylor, Kieran Saylor, Douglas Saylor III, Myles Ramondo, and Araya Ramondo. Also predeceased by his sister Eleanor. Jack attended Sacred Heart Elementary School and West Catholic High School where he served as class president. He then received a scholarship to The University of Pennsylvania where he played four years of varsity basketball and graduated from Wharton. Jack was dedicated to his country, for which he served as an officer in The Marine Corps. He was devoted to Day and Zimmermann Inc., where he worked for over 40 years, ultimately becoming the company's first CFO. Jack also was the founder and chairman of Wharton Surety Consultants LLC. He was dedicated to his community, most notably as a charitable alumnus for West Catholic Preparatory High School, and a dependable parishioner of St. Katherine's. Jack and Mary Pat traveled throughout the United States and visited 6 continents. He enjoyed spending time with his family and friends, golfing, and attending his grandchildren's sporting events. Jack's life was best exemplified by one of his favorite quotes: "It's not the size of the dog in the fight, it's the size of the fight in the dog". Jack would like all to remember that it is our duty to serve, "God, family and country." Once you get to heaven, make sure you set up a lunch or dinner date. He will see you around the campus!
