DR. JOHN V. MILEWSKI

MILEWSKI DR. JOHN V. Scientist and Inventor On December 26, 2021, Dr. John Vincent Milewski, 93, loving husband, father and grandfather passed away at Devon Senior Living in Devon, PA. John was an internationally recognized expert in the field of Materials Science and Engineering. He was a certified professional engineer, scientist, inventor, entrepreneur, consultant, author, publisher, and lecturer. A staff member of Los Alamos National Laboratory, he worked previously at Exxon Research and at Thiokol Rocket Engine Division, where he developed materials for the Gemini rockets. He co-founded Thermokinetic Fibers and later Superkinetic, Inc. John was a graduate of the University of Notre Dame, Stevens Institute of Technology, and Rutgers University. He holds over 30 patents, authored over 40 publications and co-authored four books. He was a Fellow of the American Ceramic Society. John and his son Peter have a lighting filament invention on permanent exhibition at the Smithsonian. In his later years, he published articles and was a keynote speaker on fringe scientific theories of physics and the universe. John grew up in Spring Valley, NY but was passionate about the desert and mountains of New Mexico where he lived subsequently for nearly 40 years. His personal interests included dancing, astronomy, rock collecting, traveling, hiking, philosophy, home repairs, joke telling, prospecting and assaying. John was preceded in death by his first wife, Hilde, brother Anthony, and sister Loretta and survived by his second wife Ethel, his sister Marilyn, his daughter Anne, his sons John O. and Peter, grandsons Chris and Daniel and granddaughters Caitlin, Kathryn, and Juliana. His ashes will be buried at a later time in the family plot at St. Anthony's Catholic Cemetery in Nanuet, NY.
