Dear Leigh, Bryan, Emily, Allie, and Claire,

On behalf of the faculty, staff, and students of the Charter High School for Architecture + Design, I offer our most sincere sympathy for the loss of your husband and father. John touched many lives, as evidenced by all who were in attendance at the service today.

We were all very much looking forward to working with John on our recently-formed Business Advisory Council. He, too, seemed excited about it and about supporting the school. We are humbled by your thoughtful direction of gifts to CHAD in John’s memory. Know that we will do our very best to honor him and his amazing commitment to future architects.

With heartfelt condolences,

I am so very sorry for your loss. I did not know John on a personal basis but his firm always hired and treated all of our Drexel students and graduates with respect and kindness. Students and graduates always returned with only the most positive comments and gratitude. He and his firm have done so much for us here at Drexel. He will be very much missed. I hope that your memories can bring you some comfort and solace. My thoughts and prayers also go out to the people who worked with him everyday.
Sincerely,

Too many years have passed since our last encounter. I wish his family and friends only the very best in this time of loss. I knew John at the beginning of his career and was saddened today when contacted by a mutual friend of our shared loss. I know that John was dearly loved, as he was dedicated to his family. His dedication to the profession of architecture and design will be missed. May our loss inspire us all to continue to carry on the passion for life, family and environment that John inspired in all of us.

Leigh and most precious children,

John was a quiet guy as you know, not inclined to volubility. But his actions spoke volumes. Marrying you, Leigh, an outstanding example of humanity and humility, fathering four fabulous children who are examples to all, and leading the way architecturally to better our world with green buildings. Few of us will ever leave such a worthwhile legacy, never mind at an all--too-young age.

Our tears are messages of our shared grief and support.

May the angels be with you now to build you up and keep you smiling.

Love and prayers,

AnnMarie, David, Russell and Jenny
