To the Pawlowski/Noz family: I am John and Helen Noz's next door neighbor and I wanted to express my sympathy for your tragedy. You have our deepest sympathies. My heart hurts for all of you in a special way, as I lost someone in my family to violence too, though not in Philadelphia. I know that God will give you strength, as he has given us strength, to handle this loss and to face the future with courage. I feel especially indebted to John for paying such a price to defend the people of this city against senseless violence. You have our sympathy and our prayers. Your son will always know that his dad was a true hero.

Kimberly, you do not know me and I did not know your husband, but the entire City of Philadelphia feels like they know you both now. I'm sorry this had to happen to you. I want you to know that even though I do not know you, my heart is still breaking for you over this tradgedy. In your belly you carrying a piece of you husband, and I hope that when your son arrives, it will bring you great joy. Although your husband will not be there with you to share in your joy, you're going to be blessed with his presence in your son, and he WILL be looking down on you & protecting you both forever. Every time I think about what has happened to you, I get upset. You seemed like such a great couple, and so very much in love. I hope you can find the strength to continue on, for your son. The City of Philadelphia is here for you, and we are wrapping our arms around you in support.

Take comfort in knowing that now you have a special guardian angel to watch over you. and your unborn son. This is happening way to much. And this one really effected us. We have a son John's age and he and his friend went to school with him and played ball with him for PYO. I come from a family of police officers. My brother was on the force for 14years. and my former husband is a retired police officer. Kim,and family may you find comfort in knowing that John was a true hero. And it showed at his service at St Anselm's as well as his funeral which we went to the cemetery. We visit all the police officers at resurrection, and we have added John to our list. My husband lost his sister 9 months ago, and he is up there quite often. take care of yourself and that baby. GOD BLESS YOU ALL. Please take comfort in knowing that you are not alone. John lives on in that child that you are carrying and he is watching over you. He is your guardian angel now and forever. God watch over them and protect them.

To my dearest family, some things I'd like to say...
but first of all, to let you know, that I arrived okay.
I'm writing this from heaven. Here I dwell with God above.
Here, there's no more tears of sadness; here is just eternal love.
Please do not be unhappy just because I'm out of sight.
Remember that I'm with you every morning, noon and night.
That day I had to leave you when my life on earth was through,
God picked me up and hugged me and He said, "I welcome you."
It's good to have you back again; you were missed while you were gone.
As for your dearest family, they'll be here later on.
I need you here badly; you're part of my plan.
There's so much that we have to do, to help our mortal man.
God gave me a list of things, that he wished for me to do.
And foremost on the list, was to watch and care for you.
And when you lie in bed at night, the day's chores put to flight.
God and I are closest to you....in the middle of the night.
When you think of my life on earth, and all those loving years
because you are only human, they are bound to bring you tears.
But do not be afraid to cry; it does relieve the pain.
Remember there would be no flowers, unless there was some rain.
I wish that I could tell you all that God has planned.
But if I were to tell you, you wouldn't understand.
But one thing is for certain, though my life on earth is o'er.
I'm closer to you now, than I ever was before.
There are many rocky roads ahead of you and many hills to climb;
but together we can do it by taking one day at a time.
It was always my philosophy and I'd like it for you too...
that as you give unto the world, the world will give to you.
If you can help somebody who's in sorrow and pain,
then you can say to God at night......"My day was not in vain."
And now I am contented....that my life has been worthwhile,
knowing as I passed along the way, I made somebody smile.
So if you meet somebody who is sad and feeling low,
just lend a hand to pick him up, as on your way you go.
When you're walking down the street, and you've got me on your mind;
I'm walking in your footsteps only half a step behind.
And when it's time for you to go.... from that body to be free,
remember you're not going.....you're coming here to me.

To the family of this beloved fallen officer:
I can't put into words how I feel for your family but I can say my thoughts are with you. I cannot imagine the pain you are feeling but I do support all of the things your beloved husband, son, brother has done. I am eternally grateful for having him risk his life for us each day that he did. I have a father in the police department and I know what it is like to kiss him goodbye each day hoping he walks back through the door. I am truly and deeply sorry for your loss and only hope you can find comfort somewhere. I know the pain will never go away but now you will have a guardian angel watching over your shoulders each and everyday... may all the warmth and love surround you in this time of grieving...

Pawlowski Family,
My heart goes out to you all. Officer Pawlowski truly was a hero. It is so heartbreaking to see the grief on Kimmy's face and know that she will never hug her true love again. Evan after 23 years, I can not imagine not hugging my husband again. Your wedding and honeymoon pictures are beautiful, and Officer Pawlowski truly seemed to be a man completely in love with his wife. If Kimmy was in fact, as Lauren has said, the reason Officer Pawlowski was the man he was, then I have no doubt that she will raise their little baby to be a wonderful person.
I will keep you all in my prayers. GOD BLESS!

Kim,
I do not know you, however you have touched an entire city, maybe an entire nation. I can't imagine the pain you are going thru, and I know there is no words that will help. But please know this, in all your grief & sorrow there is a bright light that will soon shine, your unborn child. I know you would prefer to have your Johnny beside you for this miracle and continue to live your life as new parents without the entire city knowing your family, however this was not to be. For whatever reason this senseless tragedy has touched your family, your family has touched an entire city. Please know that we are all grieving with you. I have to believe, your beautiful unborn son is in for great things. He will be loved by an entire city and we all await his birth. My heart aches for you. In all your sadness, when you look into your son's eyes your going to see that your husband has given you the greatest gift a man can give to his wife. God Bless you & your family, remember you will always be in our thoughts and prayers.

Mr. & Mrs. Leigh,
I went into DD this morning and the first thing I saw was the picture of a grieving family. I cried. As a parent , we want to protect our children and take away all their pain, unfortunately your daughter is suffering the greatest loss for herself and her unborn child that no words or acts of kindness can take away. My heart aches for you. I know that I should be typing all the politically correct words, however I can't. I am angry, the city is angry, I believe the entire nation is angry. I hope with this senseless tragedy, a bright light will shine thru, when that beautiful, healthy grandson comes into the world and helps take away some of your pain. God Bless your family and know that an entire city is crying and grieving with you.

Honestly, this sucks! No one should have to go through this horrific pain! John is a Hero, never forget that! JOHN DID MAKE A DIFFERENCE! He died doing what he loved to do; only other brothers/sisters in blue, can relate to that. You are surrounded by family friends and people you don't even know who care; please don't forget that. God Bless you and your baby, it will be a rough road ahead, but John and his mom will help you through one day at a time. We will be thinking and praying for you daily!

Dear Pawlowski Family,
My thoughts and prayers are with you all. As a citizen of Philadelphia I am deeply saddened by this tragic incident. When I saw John's picture I could see in his eyes a caring, compassionate young man who had a lust for life and a great sense of humor. Please know he is not lost, we know he has a special place in Heaven, we are the ones who are lost without him. Kim, your child already knows his Father....I believe God made sure of that and John will always be beside you and your son protecting you like he did every day on his job protecting all of the citizens of Philadelphia. "Make yourself familiar with the Angels, and behold them frequently in spirit; for without being seen, they are present with you. I want to thank you all for sharing John with us, he will always be remembered in my prayers. God Bless You All and may HE hold you all in the Palm of his Hand.

God Speed & Bless the Pawlowski Family during this time of grief and sorrow. May they find some comfort in the fact that John is watching over them, just remember that with every breeze you feel on any given day. That is his way of saying hello. When, that beautiful baby is born onto Earth, everytime that baby smiles in his/her sleep, it gives a whole new meaning to 'dreaming of angels.' That baby will be seeing John and playing with John. I promise you he'll be with you in spirit. GOD BLESS YOU ALL!

I am very saddened to hear of the death of Officer Pawlowski. At 25, his life was just beginning. There is no easy way to understand why things like this happen. I am hoping that there is comfort knowing that so many people in this city are with the family at this terribly devasting time. I don't even know Officer Pawlowski or his family but am grieving for them. May he rest in peace and in time I am hoping your lives will continue and be hopeful again.

I live around the corner and and seeing all the police officers line Academy Road, it brought a tear to my eye. Another officer gave his life for this city and for that I am very appreciative! My thoughts and prayers are with your family, wife and baby. All I can say is THANK YOU, THANK YOU, THANK YOU!

I am a wife of a Philadelphia Police Officer. My heart just breaks all over again when I here another senseless killing of one of our Police Officers. When is this going to STOP. My heart goes out to the family of the Pawlowski Family especially his wife and unborn child. Just know that your baby has the best guardian angel watching over him/her. You are in my prayers always.

May the roads rise to meet you,
May the wind be always at your back,
May the sun shine warm upon your face,
The rain fall soft upon your fields
And, until we meet again,
May God hold you in the hollow of his hand.
May your memories of John guide you through this time of darkness. I feel blessed to have known him.

I would like to express my deepest sympathy to both families. I recently moved out of the area (St. Anselm's) but I lived in Parkwood for 29 years. My eldest daughter went to school with both John and Kimmie and I also knew alot of their friends. Even though I moved away, I feel a connection and my heart goes out to all of you. I am so very very sorry. May God be with you all always. He will provide and protect.

"The Final Inspection"
The policeman stood and faced his God,
which must always come to pass.
He hoped his shoes were shining
just as brightly as his brass.
"Step forward now, policeman.
How shall I deal with you?
Have you always turned the other cheek?
To my church have you been true?"
The policeman squared his shoulders and said,
"No Lord I guess I ain't.
Because those who carry badges
can't always be a saint.
I've had to work most Sundays,
and at times my talk was rough...
And sometimes I've been violent
because the streets are awful tough.
But I never took a penny
that wasn't mine to keep...
Though I worked a lot of overtime
when the bills got just too steep.
And I never passed a cry for help,
though at times I shook with fear.
And sometimes, God forgive me,
I've wept unmanly tears.
I know I don't deserve a place
among the people here.
They never wanted me around
except to calm their fear.
If you've a place for me here,
Lord, it needn't be so grand.
I never expected or had too much,
but if you don't...I'll understand."
There was silence all around the throne
where the saints had often trod,
as the policeman waited quietly
for the judgment of his God.
"Step forward now, policeman.
You've borne your burdens well.
Come walk a beat on heaven's streets.
You've done your time in hell."

Dear Kim, Baby Pawlowski, and the Leigh and Pawlowski families
Always know when your baby is smiling in his sleep, the angels are playing with him and know that the angel is John. Sorry for your loss, stay strong for yourself and especially for the little one growing inside you.
