On Jan. 28, 2017, age 91, of Barrington NJ. Predeceased by his beloved wife, Theresa (nee Todd) and 2 brothers, George and Joseph. Lovingly survived by his 3 children, Mary (Robert) Dunlop, David T. (Lorraine) Swoyer and Alice M. Swoyer; his 5 grandchildren, Ryan, Matthew, Amy, Eric (Elizabeth) and Mark, as well as several nieces and nephews.
His Viewing will be held Thursday morning, 7:30 to 9:30 A.M., at HEALEY FUNERAL HOME, 9 White Horse Pike, Haddon Heights NJ. His Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Thursday morning, 10 A.M., at St. Rose of Lima Church, 4th Ave. and Kings Highway, Haddon Heights. Interment West Laurel Hill Cemetery, Bala Cynwyd PA. In lieu of flowers, family requests donations be made in his name to Jefferson Office of Institutional Advancement, 125 S. 9th St., Suite 600, Phila. PA 19107 c/o Division of Internal Medicine.

Dear Mary, David & Alice - Don't know if you will remember me - I lived 3 doors down from your family on Roberts Ave., Haddonfield. I use to babysit for all three of you and Aunt Theresa was my Sponsor for my Confirmation.
I wish to send out my sincere condolences to each of you for the loss of your Dad.
We all love both your parents & Uncle John refinished my crib for our daughter Katie- born 10/01/1985 both she and her brother used the crib. What a wonderful air-loom to pass down.
Your Mom & Dad have a special place in my heart - as do all of you.
May you gather strength & keep the faith as you travel down this difficult path of grief.
Love to you Uncle John May you Rest in the Arms of our Lord along side Aunt Theresa. I shall remember all the gr8 times we shared.

John was a very dear, kind, gentle soul. We'll miss teasing him and provoking that great chuckle he had. As we celebrate his life and legacy, know our prayers are with all the Swoyer family. Dear Alice, Mary, David and family, we are so sorry about the loss of your beloved Dad. You are all in our thoughts and prayers. Also my Mom Anne Merritt sends her condolences.
