Joe was still deeply in love with his bride of 50 years and adored his children and grandchildren. They were his world. He will be remembered lovingly by each. It was our good fortune to become a part of his family.

I came back to work tonight after 5 days off and was so saddened to hear about Mr. Hornig's passing. He was truly one of our favorite patients on 6 Bles--all of us loved having our shifts brightened by his quick wit, wonderful attitude, and sweet spirit. The love the Hornig family had was so obvious and a joy to be around. We will miss you and please know we're thinking of you. Love, Abby
