Joe,
To this day I still miss you my friend. I will never forget the times we spent together on the ice or just milling around at iceland. It was one of the few reasons I would look forward to coming to the that place. My life would not have been the same without you.

I hope you are resting in peace. We miss you down here, but your legacy lives on.

with love,
nick

Kristin,
Joe spoke of you often and with pride. Him coming to you in your dreams means he did make it - he is at peace. Please don't feel responsible, I did too, but things happen just like they are supposed to. It was very sad.
Take care and I'm glad you had good memories of your dad, he had good memories of you too.
Donna - A very close personal friend.

Not many of u may know but Joe was my dad. Not biologicaly but he raised me. My mom n Joe met when I was 4 and were together til I was about 12. He was a good dad and a fun dad. Always gave the coolest gifts and took me to the funnest places. When I found out he was gone I literally collapsed. I just couldn't believe it. I felt some how responsible like what if I contacted him more or visited. I miss him more that any1 can imagine n a day doesn't go by that I'm not thinking of him. When he first died I had dreams of him being young n healthy and he'd always tell me he's ok. It gave me comfort to hope that was his way of reaching me to let me know he is ok now. I will miss him everyday.

Hi friends,
As I posted earlier, I have joe's dog, Max, my new best friend. I was hoping to re-unite him with his puppy, Caesar and his friend, Rudy, for a visit. If anyone knows their owners, please contact me.
Joe taught Max how to smile. I miss him.

When i first became and all throughout my referee career joe was one of the nicest people and always helped me out. I was shocked to read on an officiating website that he died as i was trying to get back into refing. He was so fun to work with and such a great guy. Im so sorry for your loss

What can you say about Joe! He was a great friend and coworker. He could always make us laugh with his mouth and his stories!! He was always at the hockey rink enjoying the game he loved. Joe was always over our house for holidays and just daily visits and we truly enjoyed his company and we are sad to know we won't see him again. We really loved Joe and miss him more then words can say! Joe was truly my best friend and I will never be able to replace him! The Schmidt Family

Joe dated some of the most beautiful girls from my graduating class at Ryan High School. When I met him, through Bill, I understood why. He was handsome and charming; I compared him to Harry Connick Jr.
Joe survived many accidents; it was not his time. Having friends like you and caring for his dogs helped Joe smile.
I am the procurer of ALL the pictures he took over the years. I have posted a couple of my great friend, Joe. He must have known, in the end , memories are all we have.

Joe - as a coach and a player at IceLand for many years, it was always so great to know you were ref’n the game. You always made me laugh at something during the game, whether it was our team, their team or even something I did. You are great! See you when I get up there to play again. Coach Art

Joe,not a day will pass without my remembering you. Your laugh, your smile, your love for Augie and Rooty and Caesar and Max. I know that you appreciated my friendship and my cooking. I told you that that it wasn't the length of our life but the quality, what we do for others that becomes the measure of who we are. You were a wonderful human being and I am only one of many who will always miss you. May you be with God and forever at peace. Love, your friend, Arretta Keefer
Your animals miss you, but they are all well.

Smokin Joe,
It's sad knowing that im not going to see you at 7 am with a coffee in the ref room with that jacket of yours. You taught me a lot and obviously taught me how to conserve my energy out on the ice. You will be truly missed by everyone and the Kras family.

Joe, you were a great mentor to all of us as officials and people. You were a great person on and of the ice and will be very missed. Lots of people looked up to you in many ways. I learned a great deal about officiating and life from working with you those three years at ice land. Thanks so much for all your help, The Bluem Family

To my "Hummel figure" Joe: I am so painfully sad over your passing. I tried so hard to keep you here with us ( Max, Caesar, Rudy &, of course my Maggie Mae). I truly believe that Arretta was sent from some "energy" to help you find your way home. Little did I know it would be YOU; not my son to leave. Some day, but certainly not in the near future, I must come to terms with this. You are very close to this street in Parkwood, for strange (but typical Joe things)have continued since you left on eagle's wings. We are feeding your "kids" & trying to accept God's will. Your funeral mass was the most touching I've ever experienced. Until we meet again, please keep those pranks directed at this house on D. F. Rd. PEACE to our Peter Pan!

I knew Joe for the past five years and will miss him. He always had a smile on his face and seemed to enjoy life. He loved his dogs, and I looked forward to coming to the rink and seeing Rudy in the locker room. He touched a lot of people up and down the east coast. More than he would have ever thought. His funeral service was nice, and I hope and pray that Joe is resting with the Lord, and will forever be at peace in His heavenly Kingdom.

Be well, Joe, you are truly missed!
