To Cass and the family
Very sorry to hear about Joe's passing. He was a dear friend, but we lost touch after he left the water dept where we first met. Joe was in my group while working in the construction branch.

Joe's greatest love was his family and his greatest gift to all he met was his ability to be positive, despite whatever else was going on. I will miss him. My heartfelt sympathy to his family and friends.

Joseph,
Cass shared your remaining time with so many of us and we will all miss and love and appreciate Cass for sharing you. I will especially miss those times that I so very much looked forward to when you would stop by every few weeks to visit and also see Mimi, how she loved her Joe so. Mimi would come running when she saw you, jump up on your chest and you would sit there with her licking your face telling Nancy & me "I love this dog and if you ever go anywhere I will babysit her." I remember when you came home from dialysis and came in the pool area and could hardly walk and I said what the heck are you doing and your response was: "I saw your car and thought I'd come in to talk with you". You never once complained about your health instead you worried about your friends, what a special man you were. I will never forget when you had your heart attack at the community meeting and after two days in the hospital my phone rang and the voice asked how I was feeling and I had no idea it was you and then I said "What the heck are you doing calling me and you said you wanted to know how I was feeling." I truly aspire to be the man you were. There is a place in my heart that is especially reserved for my friend Joe. Like yourself, Luke stops by every so often and I am sure we will sit here and reminisce about our friend Joe.
Your friends,
Bob & Nancy

I have so many great memories of Joe, aka "Pop-Pop", that I can fill a novel and only finish the Forward. He was many more things than just a father-in-law to me. He was my friend. As I reflect this week it's dawned on me that one of the things I'm missing most is also something that sounds almost trivial, given his dynamic presence and personality. I'm really missing his greeting. "Hey kid, what's ya say?" So many good days started out with that simple greeting. So when I meet him again, and I know I will, I plan to respond back to him much like I always responded. "Hey, I'm pretty good"...and you know what, I will be. Love you Pop-Pop.

I had the unique pleasure of getting introduced to Joe about 20 years ago as a family friend of my future wife. I will most definitely remember Joe from our golf games and meeting up w/him during Flyers games as well as our trip together to the 1996 US Open golf tournament outside of Detroit, MI. Joe was someone that had a uncanny charismatic quality that made him so likeable to virtually everyone he crossed paths. I will miss him greatly and proud to have the privilege of knowing him, but GOD called Joe to him so Joe can be next to him & make him smile and laugh every day for eternity.
