Joe you will be missed so very much. We had a very short time together as we came back into each other life but we did make the best of time we had. We will always cherish the good times. I only wish it was longer. You are out of pain and that's all that matter's. What a strong will to live could only be passed on. I always enjoyed having you and your family over. You always made me fell good. Like no one else could cook like me but I know better.
Well our dearest friend until we meet again rest in PEACE. May God Bless you and your Family always.
Love you,

Joe,
Words cannot express how much I am gone to miss you.You are truly "MY FAVORITE". I always looked forward to seeing you because I knew we'd engahe in a fun chit-chat and conversation. You always knew how to brighten up my day and make me smile. Your extreme positivity, love of life and jovial personality were infectious and admirableto all who met and knew you. I know you will continue to listen and watch over us especially your wife Helen, sons Justin and Joseph, daughter-in-law Deanna, and of course your grandchildren Sienna Grace and new baby Scavetti. Everybody will be ok because you instilled in them the lessons of hard work, being a true family man and the importance of sticking together and leaning on one another during trying times. It is because of knowing you that your family and friends have led happier and more fulfilled lives. Thank Joe for being you. And thank you for teaching us so much about life and how to enjoy it. I will miss you every day .
Love you always!

Joseph Scavetti was the finest man I have ever known. He loved life and enjoyed it to its fullness. He was a faithful Christian, a loving husband, father, father-in-law, and Pop Pop. His Family meant everything to him.
He left us much too soon but the love and memories we have of him will remain in our hearts forever.
We will miss you dearly Joe, but you will never be forgotten. Until we meet again, dear friend...Rest In Peace.

Big Joe Scav will always be on our mind and forever in our hearts! He was one of a kind! He was a special person who truly loved people. We will forever miss that smile and laugh as he engaged in a coversation! It was the small things that meant a lot to Joe, talking sports and having his family all under the same roof were two of the biggest! The love he showed as a grandfather was truly touching as he valued that role more than anything, his sienna was his heart! Joe Scav Sr set the foundation for what it means to work hard in life and his 40 years at the Postal Office was a prime example! His work ethic was impeccable and admirable as he balanced work and family with pure perfection! It is still difficult to come to terms that he is gone as we hold him dear to our hearts we will keep his legacy and memory a live for years to come! Until we meet again Big Joe we love you and miss you!! xoxo Luv Joseph and katie and the baby boy (Joseph) you knew was on its way!! Keep looking over us all.

One of the greatest people I knew. Always could tell a story or listen to a story of my own. Joe was like no one else out there. Unique in every way. We would talk for hours about anything. "Richie my man, come here I wanna tell ya something. " I can still hear him saying that. Love you always Joe!

Joe,
There aren't enough words to express the sadness and emptiness Virgil and I feel in our hearts. What a wonderful husband, father, pop pop and friend you were! When you walked into a room, you lit it up with your big smile. Our world will truly be a darker place without you. You were so loving, caring and friendly. Virgil and I will always remember and admire your faith, strength and courage. You always looked at the positive side of every situation. You always saw the glass as being half full and not half empty.
Joe, I will always cherish the fun you and I had in planning our children's wedding. We both thought the same way; family was the center of everything, especially when our Sienna Grace was born. How much love and joy she brought into our lives.
And now, our family will never be the same without you. You took a part of us with you, and yet, you will always be a part of us. You will never be forgotten. May you rest in peace and know how much you are truly missed and loved.
Forever in our hearts,
Diane & Virgil

Joe,
I will always admire your positive outlook on life. There are not many people that could have handled this situation the way that you did. I always knew you were kind, I always knew you were generous, but I never knew that you were such a fighter. Standing strong through adversity is a understatement compared to what you did. Your decision not to go gentle into that good night was something I will never forget. Whenever I find myself in a tough situation I will remember you, Joe. I will continue to move forward as you did, and I will always be in control of my happiness. Thank you for being my friend.

Euology
I stand here today to honor a wonderful, husband, father and pop-pop. My father in law was a true definition of what a family man exhibits. My father in law, Joe met my mother in law Helen when she was 13 years old. They have been together for 46 years and have shared so many life experiences together. It is with great sadness to know that my mother in law has lost her true soul mate. She doesn't know life without him.
My father in law never met his own father because he unfortunately passed away when he was only six months. You never would have known that by the traditional example and love he demonstrated with his sons Justin and Joseph. My father in law was a father to everyone in St. Paul's parish when his boys went to school. He organized a baseball team and basketball team to keep the young boys engaged in activities. He was also the coach there for many years. He loved watching his sons play baseball. He loved playing spades and would be partners with many of us in this room. He was a big Yankees fan too! But Justin would never agree that they were a good team!! My husband Joseph is a fantastic father because he was taught from the best dad.
He was a man of the Church who had such strong faith. My father in law would go to Church every day and pray not only for himself, but for many others. He prayed to Padre Pio daily asking for a miracle. He has many Padre Pio relics and prayer cards. It has come to my attention that today is Padre Pio's feast day. How fitting he is laid to rest on this day.
My father in law was a true fighter and would not give up. I admire his strength, determination and faith. When the doctors told him his results he turned to God for love, support and courage. My father in law loved life and lived each day to the fullest. He was taken from us very young, but God has another plan for him. He would always say that I was his favorite daughter in law…I was his only daughter in law. However he did have many favorites in his life, for example, my sister Jillian, Dana, Lois, Michelle and even you, Miss Tyreka….But It was no secret that his true favorite was his baby girl, Sienna Grace. He absolutely adored my daughter and couldn't wait to retire to take care of her. I know he will be watching over her always. She has a very special angel!
I promised him that Sienna Grace would never forget him because she will be wearing a locket with his picture when she gets a little older. My father in law will always stay in her heart, and ours. He will be truly missed and never forgotten. I will miss our long talks…we all know he liked to tell stories! I will forever cherish our memories and will love you always!
Sienna Grace wanted me to tell you Pop-Pop that she knows you are in heaven and she loves you and misses you already! WE ALL DO!!!
Love your daughter in law,

Dear Joe~ You were only back in my life as an adult for a short period of time. But each time we were in each other's company, it seemed like we talked all the time. But that was just who you were. A great, kind, loving man who made anyone feel important & special! None of us know what God's plan is for us or how much time we have here. You made every minute of every day count, which many of us don't do. People are connected with people & cross each other's paths for many reasons. I have learned from you to cherish every day, be with the people who mean the most to you, and to believe in your faith which will give you the strength to carry whatever cross the lord gives you. There's an old saying that God only places on your shoulder the crosses he feels as though you can carry throughout your life. Joseph Scavetti, you carried your cross with bravery, pride, and strength. You are an ispiration to everyone, even those who never had the chance to cross your path. I hope you are looking down on all of us. Rest in peace and know you are missed and loved by all.

Joe, we knew eachother a few years. In those years I felt like I knew you a lifetime. You were so ill, and were always concerned about me and my family. You once told me " I was the greatest friend to Joey, Deanna and sienna". I spoke to you a few days before your passing, we talked about the Yankees. Still you never complained about your illness. Always worried about me. Through you I gained courage and strength to go on. You are an inspiration, and you will always be my friend. Now that your watching over everyone, get those tanks in the world series next year!!!! Everyone you met in life you touched. I am blessed to have met you....god bless

Dear Helen (Ginge), Justin, and Joseph:
Upon saying our fond farewell to our beloved Joe a.k.a "Euegene," we sit and ponder those wonderful memories we had at Seaside where he would sit on the beach for hours, even on a dismal day, or we would lose him on the boardwalk as he would stop and talk to every one and any one who would listen. Remember the time he was unhappy with the couch at the condo and went on a mission to find us a new one?
Eugene had many loves, such as the Yankees, baseball, the beach, and Italian cuisine, but his four great loves were: Helen, Justin, Joe, and Sienna.
Take comfort in knowing that you have a very special angel watching over you each and every day.
Euegene, please watch over your love and your boys and keep them safe. We will miss you very much. You hold a special place in our hearts. Give daddy a big hug for us.
Love You All,
Theresa and Dana Smith
