Kathy Kellmer Obituary

Kellmer Kathy May 16th, 1945 - August 22nd, 2025. After valiantly battling ovarian cancer for almost 4 years, Kathy passed away on August 22. She is survived by her devoted and loving husband of nearly 53 years, Jim Kellmer, her son Dan (Stacie Ciancarelli), her son Jeff, and her granddaughter Hannah. Kathy is also survived by her siblings Tom Louden (Kitty), Roger Louden (Suzanne) her fraternal twin sister Mary Ann Shanahan (Paul), sister Carol Beauchamp (Michael Sodano) and many dear cousins, nieces, nephews, and very close friends, all of whom she adored. Kathy was born to the late Anna Louden (nee Polizze) and the late Thomas Louden. When Kathy graduated high school, she took a job working for First Pennsylvania Company Bank where a smitten young man named Jim Kellmer, making a daily business deposit, asked the beautiful teller for a date, and the rest is history. Jim Kellmer and Kathy Louden fell deeply in love and married on September 6th, 1972. Throughout the 1970's, Kathy was a busy fashion model. She also converted to Judaism. Kathy was also a founding member of Classic Cake Company until she left to focus on her children. She remained a professional dessert chef on her own. Kathy soon became an integral part of her husband's family business, Jack Kellmer Company, as a bookkeeper turned software expert. She also joined the board at Markheim Art Center in Haddonfield and helped keep the center a float. Kathy loved and excelled at entertaining. She also cherished culture, traveling the world, her books of fiction, massive collection of cookbooks, art, music, coffee, feeding backyard squirrels and birds, her dogs Panda, followed by Scarlett, her granddogs, and her nightly viewing of Jeopardy, of which she was an ace. But most of all, she loved her husband, Jim, and her two sons. Anyone else that was fortunate enough to know or call her a friend reaped the immeasurable benefits of being graced by the light of one of the world's finest human beings. We will miss her more than words could ever say. May her memory be forever a blessing. Relatives and friends are invited Tuesday, Aug. 26, 2025 beginning 9:30 A.M. to PLATT MEMORIAL CHAPELS, Inc. 2001 Berlin Rd. Cherry Hill, NJ where Funeral Services will begin promptly at 10:00 A.M. Interment will follow at Locustwood Memorial Park. Shiva will be at the late residence on Tuesday following the service with minyan at dusk, and once again Wednesday from 4:30 P.M. to 8:00 PM. Contributions can be made to Penn Ovarian Cancer Research Center, www.med.upenn.edu/cwhrm/pennovariancancerresearchcenter.html
