The family will greet friends from 6-8 P.M. Tuesday, July 2, 2024 at the Funeral Home. Kevin, a beloved son, husband, father, papa, brother, uncle, soldier, and friend died Wednesday, June 26, 2024 in Lawton, Oklahoma. He was born May 4, 1963 in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania to Joseph and Catherine (Cinchett) Carroll. He was the tenth child of 15 children born into the couple's loving and larger than life Irish/Italian Catholic family. He grew up working alongside his siblings in his father's grocery store "Carroll's Food Market" on Rhawn Street in Northeast Philly. He was extremely competitive and excelled at nearly every sport he participated in in his youth and beyond. He earned his GED in 1981 and enlisted in the United States Army at the age of 17 shortly thereafter. He completed his basic training at Fort Sill, Oklahoma and subsequently was assigned Fort Sill as his first duty station where he met the love of his life Carmen Luiña. The couple married on December 17, 1983 and were married for over 40 years. Their union welcomed three daughters Dominique, Ciara, and Arianna. Kevin served his country faithfully for over 23 1/2 years most notably as Command Sergeant Major of "Hamilton's Own" 1st Battalion, 5th Field Artillery Regiment in support of the Global War on Terrorism and Operation Iraqi Freedom. Military decorations, medals, and campaign ribbons awarded or authorized of note include: Army Lapel Button, Bronze Star Medal, Meritorious Service Medal (x4), Army Commendation Medal, Army Achievement Medal (x8), Army Good Conduct Medal (x7), National Defense Service Medal (x2), Global War on Terrorism Service Medal, Global War on Terrorism Expeditionary Medal, Military Outstanding Volunteer Service Medal, Noncommissioned Officer's Professional Development Ribbon with Numeral 4, Army Service Ribbon, and Overseas Service Ribbon (x2). After his retirement from the United States Army in 2005, Kevin worked in civil service for The Department of Defense for many years continuing his life of service until retiring a second time in 2022. He was a registered parishioner of Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church where he served as an usher for several years. Kevin was very proud of the family and life he created and equally proud of his Northeast Philly roots and Carroll family of origin. He was a die-hard Philadelphia Eagles, Flyers, and Phillies fan and despised the Dallas Cowboys (as any self-respecting Birds fan would) …GO BIRDS! He loved God, his country, and his family. He was a candy connoisseur, enjoyed making delicious meals and salsa for his family and friends, golfing, Fox News, crosswords, jumbles, history, dancing with his wife, all genres of music, coaching his children and grandchildren in sports, and simply spending time with his children, grandchildren, siblings, and extended family and friends. He was best known for his kindness, patriotism, loyalty, service, humor, and affection and all who knew and loved him can easily quote one of his many "Kevin-isms." Kevin is survived by his wife Carmen; children, Dominique (Andrew) Conrady of Prosper, Texas; Ciara (Kellen) Allen of Lawton; and Arianna (Amber) Carroll of Lawton; grandchildren, Angelicia Alexander, Kevin Alexander, Jaxon Conrady, Zoey Conrady, Benjamin Keemer-Carroll, and Evers Allen; brothers, Joseph, John, Michael, and Paul; sisters, Rosemarie, Maryann, Theresa, Patricia, Margaret, Regina, Christine and Catherine; father-in-law, Aurelio; brother-in-law, Aurelio Jr.; sister-in-law, Adela; and a multitude of well-loved nieces, nephews, cousins, in-laws, and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, Joseph and Catherine Carroll; mother-in-law, Florentina Luiña; brother, Gerard Carroll; sister, Kathleen Mahoney; brothers-in-law, Charles Mahoney and Jo?e Luiña; nephew, Matthew Klenicki, and grandson Asher Allen.
