Lea was such a special person. When my husband, Jeff Berger, passed away, I was encouraged to create a foundation in his memory. I had no idea how to do this, but Lea offered to help. I could not have done this without her. She was so selfless, competent, caring. giving and encouraging and fun! She gave me so much, asking for nothing in return. After reading her obit, I realize that I only met her after a lifetime of her accomplishments. I feel very honored to have had her in my life. Sending deepest sympathy to her family. May her memory be a blessing for all who were fortunate enough to be touched by her kindness. Karen Berger

Dear Bramnick family,
I am so very sorry for your loss. I had the greatest pleasure meeting your mom/grandmom when she was at Scheie. In 2015 I began supporting Scheie with their annual alumni receptions during AAO and their annual dinner. We started out as colleagues and quickly became friends. She and I would travel to New Orleans, Chicago, and Las Vegas with the AAO meetings. We had a blast! She made our time together fun-always up for a great meal and glass of red wine and was always planning our adventures in the cities we were in. Our first trip together was to Chicago where we went to the David Bowie exhibit. When out in Vegas we saw the Beatles LOVE Cirque du Soleil show- she knew my taste in music well! My best time with her was in New Orleans where she introduced me to escargots, beignets, chutney coffee and the quintessential carriage ride through The French Quarters. When we would meet to plan the annual Scheie dinner, she and I would have lunch and we would go to the Presby cafeteria. She would always ask about my kids, and I would share what they were up to. She would rejoice in their accomplishments (whether big or small). She often checked in on me when my mom's health was declining. I would ask about the grandkids, and she would beam beyond when sharing all the wonderful endeavors Sophie and Eli were doing. She was a beautiful soul. I am very privileged to have had the opportunity to get to know her and share our time together.
May your loving memories ease your pain through these difficult times.

Gary- you know what your mom meant to me and my family- especially my mom and "The Philly Gang". When I moved to MS, there she was ready to give me all the best places to go from dry cleaning to pizza. What a lady. Now my mom and your mom will be together again. Hugs to you and Michael. David
