I knew Lisa back in the 80s and 90s when we both worked in City Council and for some reason she popped into my mind the other day.

Lisa was a brilliant attorney but more than that, one of the sweetest and kindest people I ever had the pleasure to know. I remember vividly her warm smile and generosity of spirit. May her memory be for a forever blessing. She is remembered with great respect and esteem.

My memories of Lisa are from Baldwin, where her enthusiasm for everything resonated. Her role as the Artful Dodger in Oliver is forever embedded in my mind as the best reason for girls education without boys in the play. Lisa -- the stories I have read about your grown up years are inspirational, but not surprising. Breast cancer is just too relentless --and I will happily make another donation to LBBC in your memory.

My thoughts and prayers go out to her family and especially to her children.
She loved you very much.
I will always feel blessed that our paths briefly crossed.

The first and last time I interacted with Lisa was when we were both campaigning for Eugene McCarthy. She was an unusual, passionate teenager. When I read her obituary, I wasn't the least bit surprised that she grew up to be the person she was. I thought about her for over 40 years. I wish I would have known her as an adult.

My husband Rand and I met Lisa at Rutgers Law School in the 1980s, and we have kept in touch over the years, often at Weaver's Way. She was a bright light and a passionate spirit who extended herself both on behalf of justice and equality and for her friends, family and community. Rand and I feel blessed to have known her, and grateful for her example. We are holding Roger, Molly and Louis and other family in our hearts and prayers.

I knew Lisa since the early '70's in Austin, Texas. She was one of the bright lights in my life, and it is easy for me to visualize her sparkling, erudite wit and her passionate commitment to truth and justice. Many conversations with her led to allusions about music and literature; I will never be able to listen to Handel's Messiah without remembering her rendition of the chorus from Part One ("...and his name shall be called Wonderful, Counsellor...") All of us who knoew her have been blessed with a great gift.

If warmth, caring, and generosity are the real measures of a person -- and I certainly think they are -- Lisa was off the charts. I'm grateful for my many moments with her, and send my deepest sympathies to her family.

I met Lisa at the Philadelphia Reproductive Rights Organization when I moved to Philly in 1979. Our paths continued to cross, whether at Weavers Way or social justice events. The world needs many more people like Lisa; she will be greatly missed.

I have known Lisa since 1967. She was one of a kind -- compassionate, brilliant and charismatic. She glowed with passion and inspiration. I consider myself very lucky to have been one of the many who knew and loved her.

To the family of Lisa Baird;
I considered Lisa a dear friend from first grade through sixth at Friends' Central . As the years passed I always wished I could reconnect with her. Stephanie Koenig and I were remembering the birthday party that Lisa gave when Sally Starr was the Guest of Honor. I am so very saddened to have to her leave this world. She was an extraordinary person. love,Sherry McVickar

I met Lisa years ago when our kids were in pre-school, and our paths continued to cross at soccer, school and the food co-op. I always admired her warmth, intellect and openness and her incredible devotion to her kids. She showed such tenacity and focus in facing this disease, and I am so, so sorry to hear this news. My sympathies to Louis, Molly and the whole family on your terrible, tragic loss- Mara

Lisa, you will be badly, badly missed by all of us here in Lancaster. You were such a good person, friend and mother. I was so blessed to know you from my first introduction to immigration law in 1996 until my last visit last Friday. Just know we love you very, very much and will meet again one day. Love, Troy, Carmen, Yari & Ben

Although we drifted apart after my own divorce, Lisa was part of our special group of Childspace parents, a day care center in Philadelphia. Lisa was a kind and gentle spirit, and she will be missed. My heart goes out to Roger, her family; and especially her children, my own daughters' friends: Molly and Louis.
