MARTIN F. SR., June 18, 2009. Beloved husband of Mary T. (nee Whalen), dear father of Martin F. Jr. (Mary Theresa), Linda Mich (William, Sr.) and the late Colleen; also survived by 6 grandchildren and brother of Bernadette "Bunny" Rink. Relatives and friends are invited to his Funeral Service Thursday 11 A.M. at THE JOSEPH A. QUINN FUNERAL HOME, cor. Roosevelt Blvd. and Sanger St. where friends may call after 10 A.M. Int. private. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions to USS Hickock DD673 Reunion Fund, c/o Norm Szymonek, 27 Tobey Hill Dr., W. Seneca, NY 14224 would be appreciated.

Dear Marty, Christopher and Family:
My deepest sympathy at the passing of your father/grandfather. No bond is as great as that between a parent and child or a child and grandparent. My deepest condolences and prayers are with you both as you grieve. Stay Strong. Take consolation that he is no longer in pain and suffering. That is the one and only glimmer of light that has sustained me in similar dark times in my own life.

Marty, sorry to hear about the death of your father. I beleive that he is in a better place now and he is free from all worries and cares of this life. Mary, I am so sorry to hear about Marty passing. Although I didn't know him well, I did very much enjoy my few conversations with him. He seemed like he put a courageous fight. I can't begin to imagine how it must feel for you. Please know that I'm thinking of you and your children.

Mary, Marty and Linda; I know these past weeks have been difficult for you all and I hope you can all take comfort in knowing that your father is at peace. I know it is hard to let go of the ones we love, but his spirit lives on in each of you. Having been a front step confidante I can attest that he always spoke of you and your families with great admiration and pride. I will miss his commentaries on the Phillies, while catching a smoke on the front steps. So from my family to yours, our sincerest condolences.
