Dr. Martin Neifield has had a great effect on my life. He treated my sinusitis for free during a few years back in the 80's when I could not afford it. Then he performed an operation to straighten out my septum, which was broken in three places. This operation enriched my voice forever, and I now am a singer and guitar performer on stage in my free time, and I have entertained countless people. Dr. Neifield's passion for ENT and the way he explained the science terms to me has lead me to write the Dictionary of Otorhinolaryngology (English - Spanish), an exhaustive reference work which will be available in the coming years. Thank you Dr. Neifield....I salute you for the patience and dedication you showed to become a master in your field, and for the great humanitarian you were, Sir....

Joseph H. Hemer DO

My name is Dr. Joseph H. Hemer DO. I was one of Dr. Neiffield’s residents at PCOM from 1985-88. I have just recently found out about his passing. He was a great guy and trainer. It was fun to work with him, he “let you fly” and by doing so instilled confidence in you. Sometimes as a resident on a case you can become hesitant, because you don’t want to screw up. In retrospect, l realize that he knew this and wanted you to know that he trusted you and wanted you to be bold and self assured. He wanted you to “fly”! This was a very important part of my training. He was “unique” and I will always remember him fondly. RIP

I was so sorry to learn of Dr. Neifield's passing. I knew him for almost 40 years and he was a wonderful man and a fine gentleman. I will truly miss visiting him along with Mrs. Neifield at Shannondell for dinner. My sincere sympathies to the family
