Mary Knox TATNALL

TATNALL Mary Knox Of Wayne, PA died peacefully at home at the age of age 86, on May 6, 2024. She was born in Philadelphia to Edythe and John Knox, raised in Haverford, and spent most of her adult life on the Main Line. Mary was a graduate of Agnes Irwin School, Colby Sawyer College, and West Chester University. She was active in sports including field hockey, basketball and lacrosse during her school years and tennis and croquet as an adult. She especially enjoyed tennis at Merion Cricket Club and Sea Pines Country Club, Hilton Head Island, SC. She was inducted into the Agnes Irwin School Sports Hall of Fame in 2016. In her free time, Mary enjoyed taking classes at Main Line School Night, nature photography and time with friends and family. Mary served on the Boards of Directors for Associated Services for the Blind, CONTACT Care Line, Francisville Home for Smaller Animals, Agnes Irwin School, Women's Board of Bryn Mawr Hospital, and Surrey Services for Seniors. Mary assisted on the altar guild and was a member of the vestry at Christ Church Ithan in Wayne. Mary is survived by her husband, Frank Tatnall, and two daughters, Edythe Polley and Pegge Nelson. A service and reception will be held at St. Mary's Episcopal Church, Wayne, on Friday, May 17th beginning at 11:00 A.M. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Parkinson's Foundation, Surrey Services for Seniors or Francisville Home for Smaller Animals/Providence Animal Center.
