Dear Sal,
Mike and I are so very sorry for your great loss. Mel was a wonderful person and she will be missed by all who knew and loved her.
I am so glad that we all got to spend time together when the two of you came to Texas in September, and then again for the Christmas holiday. We had an exceptionally good time. I am glad that you both got to share Joelle's excitement on Christmas morning. I can still picture you and Mel sitting on those little chairs in the playroom and coloring with Joelle. If I'm not mistaken, I think it was Mom-Mom Mel who showed Joelle how to color inside the lines. I'm happy that Mel got to know her, but most of all, I am grateful that Mel was in our son's life, and got to watch him grow into the fine young man he is today. I know that Mel and Philip were very fond of each other...and Mel meant a great deal to Nanci as well.
A long time ago when Mel used to come to the hair salon, she told me that she had a crush on you from when the two of you were in high school. You two were truly meant to be. You have made beautiful memories together for 23 years...and those memories will live on forever.
Mike and I would like to extend our condolences to Mel's daughters and their families, and also to her siblings and their families.
Once again, we are sorry for your loss....and remember, you have family here in Texas and you are always welcome (with open arms) by all of us.

I'd like to thank in advance all who will visit
this site to honor my sister ,Mel.
Words can not express the loss and emptiness I feel losing my sister so soon to such a horific illness.
Her short 64 years were filled with love from all who knew her. She was a great listener and giver of advice. Her sense of humor, honesty and loyality were treasured by all.
She loved her family and said it as often as possible. I was and am very fortunate to have had my sister in my life. People say we are alot alike, I can only hope she knew how much I loved and respected her through my life. I will miss her everyday as I do my brother, Joseph. When you think of Mel, smile.

I'm sorry to hear of your loss, Sal. I was only told the news just today or I would have made arrangements to come home from school for the services. Mel was always my favorite customer.
