It's 8 years Mike, time is flying by. We are still missing your presence , your laughter, your incredibly funny stories. Diana still cries when we talk about you, she just lost her Mom. Bill is a grandfather now to a baby named Ethan. We miss you Mike, why do good people go and bad ones remain? You are still in our hearts and minds, never to be forgotten! It´s been 7 long years since we have seen you in your earthly presence. Yes life goes on , yes we are doing the things we do every day, week and year. We still miss you, we have our memories and yet there is the "I miss you feeling" when we think of you Mike . Joe Hesson has recently joined you in your heavenly home and others will be there with you too . Our time on earth is short compared to your time in heaven, we will love our precious memories of you, until we meet again, bye for now my friend.

Its been 5 years Mike since we have seen you . We still miss your smiling face and your funny stories. I miss you coming over and having a fun day at Bills Steak on the Lake get together! My thoughts and prayers are with EVERYONE who knew my cousin! As a little boy I idolized Michael. I can remember following Archbishop Ryan( new school) basketball and asking my Dad about results and box scores. Big Wally said he played and helped Ryan win-I was thrilled. My fondest memories were in Ocean City when Aunt Betty and Uncle Joe would arrive with my cousins ( Tommy,Michael,Jody,Stevie,Joanne,and John-John)for a week!!!The best of times and Michael was amazing. No airs about him just a Shields. I sincerely regret how life/careers/family/etc.create distance BUT boy the memories are truly priceless. My heart and eyes feel for Michael's passing. Boy you were a great guy and a Cousin for eternity.Please tell Mom and Dad little Wally said hi and love!! Will miss you.

From playing baseball in the S.Y.O., cheese steaks at Daddies, beers at the B.I., and those great farmhouse parties, Mike always seemed to make these better than they were with his great sense of humor and that infectious smile. It was impossible to be down with Molt around. We all grow up and go our separate ways, friendships fade but the memories live on. We are all better people to have had you in our lives. You will be greatly missed. Until we meet again Molt

Mike was high school teammate in basketball and baseball at Ryan. When you first met Mike, he had the look of the toughest guy in the room. He was so cool,it was scary.I was 16 and Mike seemed like he was 25.He always seemed way ahead of the rest of us.He turned out to be the nicest guy in the room and taught you the ropes like a big brother.Completely without pretense, everyone loved Mike and rightfully so. He had always had time for everyone,a tremendous sense of humor, and a ready smile.

To the family of Mike Shields, we are so sorry to hear of his sudden passing. Mike helped us purchase our first home here in Philadelphia. He was so kind, thoughtful and funny. We loved hearing from him every Christmas and will always cherish his kindness. God Bless your family and friends during this difficult time.

When I met Bill Lake 20 years ago,I also met all of his close friends. Mike was one of them, what a warm , friendly, funny guy he was! He always made me feel like I was special, he listened, laughed, and cried with me. I loved Mike like he was my closest friend too. I will miss him but I will always cherish his friendship. We will meet again Mike, but in a better place.

Can't help remembering Michael was always first pick for football games at O.C.beach during the last week in August when all the cousins would get together for our good bye to summer. The memories will last us a lifetime. Thinking of all of you at this very sad time. Keep the faith.

Mike was a high school friend and teammate. Was one of the coolest guys I ever met, always had a smile and a kind word for everyone. First one of us to really figure out music and clothes. Introduced me to a whole set of characters from Bustleton and Somerton. Mike was the Fonz long before we saw that guy on Happy Days. I'd run into him every couple of years or so, or at a HS reunion, it was always a highlight of my day, he made me smile and feel good. I'll miss you , Taz.

Mike Shields, a beautiful person from a wonderful family. He leaves behind an incredible legacy of love , laughter and friendship that is unparalleled. It was impossible to ever be down when you were in his company, he always made your day better. A more genuine man than you can ever imagine, there aren't enough accolades to describe Mike. Although he has left us physically, his indomitable spirit will endure forever in the hearts of his loving family and countless friends. Where do I start, 35 years or so back, Can see you so clear on the beach with a football, that smile, that laugh. You stayed with me thru every home brought and sold. Sad today, taken back. Remembering the Front Row. You and all the guys were so good to me. A young single mom, had very little. You all welcome me into your world, showed me love and respect. I have wonderful memories of all and they fill my heart till this day. It is sad the world lost you, but a mark on my heart you have left, and I know I am not alone.
