DR. MICHAEL S.
Age 66, of Philadelphia died June 23, 2017. Beloved husband of Helena (nee Wojtanowska) Slanina and the late Patricia Slanina. Also survived by 2 Children, Casey Slanina and Jeffery (Elizabeth) Slanina, 2 Stepchildren Mariusz and Piotr Zielinski, a Sister Marie Slanina and 5 grandchildren Jacob and Luke Brooks, Juliette Slanina and Max and Maya Zielinski. Relatives and friends are invited to call on Tue. from 6 to 8 P.M. in SCHNEIDER FUNERAL HOME, 431 N. York Rd., Hatboro and on Wed. after 9:30 A.M. in St. John Bosco Church, 215 E. County Line Rd., Hatboro followed by his Funeral Mass at 10:30 A.M. Interment. Our Lady of Czestochowa Cemetery, Doylestown. Memorials in Michael's name may be made to Jefferson Hospital, Bone Marrow Transplant Unit, 125 S. 9th Street, Suite 600, Philadelphia, PA 19107.

Our deepest condolences to Dr Michael's family my children were one of Dr Michael's patient's He was the best doctor and my children all loved him very much he really seems to care about all of his patients as if they were his own children he was so loved by my children that now that my 2 daughter's have had their daughter's they couldn't wait for Dr Michael to be their daughter's doctor as well we were able to see Dr Michael in the office but he wasn't seeing patients yet we only found out today about Dr Michael's passing while in the office for my granddaughters 9 month visit when I asked about him I got the shock of my life to get this very sad news even my youngest daughter whom I was with was so upset she loved him so much she couldn't wait till he was her daughter's doctor too Dr Michael was one very special kind caring loving man and doctor who was extremely honest and kind hearted who will be so missed by each and every person who knew and loved him as well

Rest easy big guy! I just found out of your passing I am so sorry and send my love to your family.. my children (5) will miss you dearly . I've known you forever now and always put my mind at ease with the kids . Always took time with us and to explain every little thing to me just so I would know I'm doing it right . I am sorry for your family lost. Dr. Slanina was a great person who really cared about us. We appreciate him and all he has done for my large family who has been with him since his Police & Fire days, a very long time. Im sadden to hear of his passing. I am so sad to hear of the loss of such a phenomenal pediatrician and man! Doc cared for myself and my 5 sisters. We were with him since his Police and Firemen Clinic days. Where he use to bring Casey to work and we would play together while I waited to be seen. He affecrionally called us the Couser Clan! We loved him so much we took our children to him also. They loved him as much as we do and called him pop. Casey we love you and hope you and your family find comfort at this difficult time.

Dr. Mike will be greatly missed. It is the end of an era for my family. He was our family doctor since my sisters, brother and I were little and I was lucky enough to have him take care of my children as well. Not just an amazing doctor but an all around great guy. Prayers to his family from mine

I did not know Dr. Slanina. However, I do know Jeff Slanina-- a colleague of mine. Jeff's integrity, drive, altruism, and dependability are a testament to his strong upbringing. Dr. Slanina was surely a key player. Condolences to all family and friends.

Dear Helen, I can only imagine how difficult this is for you. Though the times I shared with you and Mike were brief, I will never forget them. I know you have lost your true love and best friend. Michael was an absolute prince among men. It's such a loss for everyone he knew to not be able to see him again. Hopefully we will all meet in heaven, where he is surely waiting for his Helena and all those that he loved. May he rest in peace.
