MILDRED HURWITZ Obituary
MILDRED, 1922 - 2012, artist/ teacher, 90, passed away peacefully of natural causes in her home in Montclair, NJ. Mildred was born in Philadel-phia where she received a BA from The University of the Arts and a Masters in Art Education from Rowan University, during a time when it was unusual for a woman to attain such advanced education. Mildred had numerous exhibitions of her abstract paintings. In addition, she was a beloved teacher having dedicated more than 20 years to the art education of children. She was married to the late Bernard Hurwitz and is survived by their 3 children: Elliott, Lee and Cathy. She is also survived by 5 grand-children and 2 great grand-children. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the Montclair Ambulance Unit (MAU), 95 Walnut St., Montclair, NJ 07042; 973-783-7624, or Shaare Shamayim Leven Educational Fund, 9768 Verree Rd., Philadelphia, PA 19115. The funeral will be held at The Mt. Sharon Cemetery Chapel on Wed., Jan. 2nd, 2013 at 1:00pm. The chapel and cemetery are located at E. Springfield Road and W. Avenue, Springfield, Pennsylvania; 610-543-8900.

I send my condolences at the death of your dear mother, Mildred Hurwitz. According to her obtiuary, she is an accomplished lady. She had her art work exhibited and appreciated by many who visited her art exhibits. My sympathies are to each member of your family. May God console and comfort each of you.
