NICHOLAS SR. "NICK", age 85, passed away peacefully on May 26, 2015 with his family by his side following a sudden illness. Nick was a beloved husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather and friend whose kind heart and warm smile will be immensely missed by those who knew him. Nick was born on Oct. 2, 1929 in Caste diLama, Italy to Maria and Achille Simonetti, he migrated to the United States in 1946 through Ellis Island. He soon began working at the Philadelphia Inquirer where he was employed for over 50 years and continued to work until his passing. He enjoyed spending time with family, friends, cooking, working in his garden, church events and traveling. Predeceased by his parents, his loving wife of 60 years Angelina Simonetti, grandson Nicholas Simonetti, III and cousin Virginia Cocci. Nicholas is survived by his devoted children Lorraine Winther (John), Nicholas Simonetti (Susan), Maria LeFevre (Philip) and his beloved friend Clara Principato, his grandchildren John Winther (Tara), Nicole Auton (Jason), Christina Benson (Bill), Sarah Simonetti, Philip LeFevre, Jenna LeFevre, Nicholas LeFevre, Leanna Townsend (Donald), Jessica Piotrowski (John), his great grandchildren Nicholas Benson, John Winther, II "Jack", Lucas Winther, Dominic Simonetti, Eric Long, Jackson Scott, Jacob Townsend, Noah Townsend and Kayla Townsend. Relatives and friends are invited to call Saturday 9 to 11 A.M. GALZERANO FUNERAL HOME, 9304 OLD Bustleton Ave. (below Welsh Rd.). Funeral Mass 11:30 A.M. Maternity BVM Church. Interment Holy Cross Cem.

So sorry to hear today about Nick passing away! We didn't know Nick but we know Maria from St. Joseph's Manor where she gives more than 100% to everyone there. If she is anything like her Dad, he must have been one great guy! Our prayers are with all of the family on their loss!

So sorry to hear of Maria's Dad, Nick's passing! We didn't know Nick, but if Maria is anything like her Dad, He had to be a great guy! Our prayers are with Maria and the entire family. We know Maria from St Josephs Manor where she gives much more than 100%!

What a wonderful man and special neighbor! I enjoyed our chats over the back fence and admired Nick greatly. How proud he was of his family! You all have a special bond. He was kind, generous, and such a positive force. His garden was always amazing and he shared the bounty with us! He will be greatly missed, but never forgotten. Nick was truly one of a kind. My sympathy to family and friends.

I am so thankful I got to know this man and his wonderful family. Lorraine, his daughter, has been my friend for years and I know how much she adored her Dad. I also want to mention that I got to taste some of "Tony Bennett's" homemade wine and it was delicious. One of the things I so admired about him was he didn't go to bed till the party was over....period. No complaining about loud music or too much wine drinking, he sat through it all with his special smile on his beautiful Italian face. I will surely miss him and so thankful I got to see him just 2 weeks ago. Off you go my dear man to your next journey. May the "sauce" be with you.
