MARCOLINA

PETER J., age 83, of Glen Mills, formerly of Laverock, Montgomery County, a retired Vice-President of First Pennsylvania Bank, died on February 27, 2013 at his home in Fox Hill Farm. Mr. Marcolina was born in Poffabro, Italy and brought to the U.S. at the age of 7 months. He was raised in the Chestnut Hill section of Philadelphia and graduated from Germantown High School in 1946, where he earned awards in football. He received his B.S. degree from Drexel University in 1958 and completed his Graduate studies at Temple University in 1968. Marcolina was with First Pennsylvania Bank for his entire career before retiring in 1990 after 43 years of service. During his tenure he served in numerous areas of the Bank, including 10 years as a Branch Manager and the last 14 years, as Head of the Commercial Loan Recover Division. During the Korean War, he served with the 3rd Armored Division and attended Officers Candidate School, Fort Bliss, TX. Marcolina also served as a member of the National Honor Guard, 3rd Infantry Regiment, Washington, D.C. in 1951. His memberships included the American Institute of Banking, Robert Morris Associates, Cross Keys National Fraternity, American Legion and Knights of Columbus. He was elected Treasurer of the Chestnut Hill Development Group in 1973 and also served as President of the Venetian Corporation. His wife, Mary Jane (nee Savage), predeceased him in December of 2012. He is survived by a daughter Debra Cerruti (Domenic), a son Robert (Eve), 5 grandchildren and a sister, Lillian Collini. Willow Grove Ave., Wyndmoor. Interment Holy Sepulchre Cemetery.
