I'm very sorry to have just heard of Tag's death. I actually didn't know Tag, but knew of him through his younger brother, Toby who was a longtime and dear friend who sadly preceded Tag in death in 1991.

I have just learned of Dr. Geer's passing while searching for his current location. I wished to credit him in a presentation for his powerful influence on my research career while I was a Robert Wood Junior Foundation Clinical Nurse Scholar at PENN. Tag and his metabolic cart provided a breakthrough in assessing the metabolic cost of shivering. He was both collegial and challenging, ever-rigorous in his methods. I had lost touch with him, but never forgot his contributions to my learning.

I am sorry for your loss. Never got to meet Ralph but talked to him a few times on Dougs Message Board. He was a wealth of knowledge and will truly be missed.

I am so sorry for your loss and so grateful to have known and worked with him at Penn. He was a terrific anesthesiologist and a wonderful person. He gave me good advice about managing my mothers care and his advice gave her five more good years. God Bless you all.

I was just talking to a friend here in Birmingham about Football at Haverford in Tag's and my senior year. i was talking about the fact that he and I played guard at the great weight of about 135-145 pounds. What a difference from today. He and I would never make a team today!!!!I believe we had those positions because we were relatively fast on our feet and could "pull out" fast to do some "trap" blocking. May Tag Rest In Peace.WarmlyFred Carter '57

Julie and Family,
Charlene and I send our sympathy and our love to you and your family. Tag was incredibly committed to his specialty and his patients at Penn, and most especially he was someone who really cared deeply for others. His patients, his family and his colleagues (such as me) all benefitted from our relationships. You should all be very proud. David E. Longnecker, MD
