Robert Dempski Obituary
ROBERT E. Ph.D., age 75, of Dresher PA, died on July 24, 2009. A retired R&D Pharmacist and Director of Pharmaceutical Development at Merck and Co., where he was employed 35 years. A graduate of Kingston High School and after receiving a Breyer's Scholarship, graduated from PCPS with a bachelor degree in pharmacy, as a graduate student he received the Rennebohm Award for excellence in teaching. He was the husband of Margaret (Pinker) Dempski for 42 years; was the son of the late Charles and Mary (Colapilo) Dempski. Also survived by 3 children, Anne (John) Messner, Ph.D., Sarah (Albert) Koch, Robert E. Dempski, Jr. Ph.D. and fiancé Marja Ossenbach; proud grand-father of Isaac, Joseph, Jacob Messner, Hannah Koch. Brother of Florence White; brother-in-law of Norma Dempski; uncle of several nieces and nephews. A brother Charles is deceased. Relatives and friends are invited to his Funeral Mass Wed., July 29, 2009, at 11 A.M., St. Alphonsus Church, 33 Conwell Dr., Maple Glen PA. Viewing Tues. 6:30 to 9 P.M. and Wed. 9:30 to 10:30 A.M. at EMIL J. CIAVARELLI FAMILY FUNERAL HOMES, 951 E. Butler Pike, Ambler PA. Int. Holy Sepulchre Cem. Memorial contributions in his memory can be made to St. Francis Cabrini Parish, 585 Mt. Olivet Rd., Wyoming PA 18944.

I always enjoyed collaborating with Bob when I was working as a Medical Program Coordinator in the Clinical Research organization. My sincere condolences and prayers go out to his family during this time. I know he will be missed.

My sincere condolences to Bob's family for their loss of a truley great person who made significant contributions not only to Merck but to patients around the world. In 1989, Bob hired me from another firm and gave me my start into Merck. His mentoring, guidance, and sharing of knowledge still remains a part of my professional core values.

My prayers are with Bob's family. I worked at Merck in 1988 as an intern and Bob was one of the mentors who was fundamental to my joining the Merck organization 16 years ago.

My condolences to the Dempski family on their loss. Bob hired me into Merck 25 years ago. He directed, coached, and mentored me through the development of Mevacor. I am grateful for his vision to give me the opportunity to contribute to society.
