I would like to introduce my Uncle Robert Jurek. He passed 2 weeks ago at the age of 96. He was part of the greatest generation . A World War 2 hero who served in the US Navy in the South Pacific. He raised his family while putting himself through school to become a successful engineer and worked on Nuclear Power plants across the country. A gentle kind soul who was always there to give a helping hand or sound advice. Like my father Bob was a legendary story teller . If you knew him you heard them all but the 1 that he told most often and was dearest to his heart was the story of the day he met his wife the late great Kathyleen Kelly. Fittingly it was at the St. Patricks day dance in Philadelphia. He glanced across the room and boom there she was the most beautiful girl he had ever seen . The rest was history. They had 3 children and lived the American dream . He was very active into his 90s still driving hanging out at family functions and with his buddy the late Great George Kelly. I had the pleasure of knowing this man my entire life . As a kid he was the uncle that trusted me to get him a beer , open it but dont take a sip . Uncle Bob was a big influence and mentor for me and was always there for guidance , influence or for a good chat. He lived a long success live guided by his faith and love for his family and friends. It is comforting to know he is back with his wife Kathyleen who he missed dearly . He is also reunited with His crew including Charlie, Tom and George and certainly up to their old shenanigans. RIP you will be missed.
