Mary & family:
My deepest condolences.
Dr. Schweitzer has been my PhD advisor for the past 9 years-- yes, I'm still working on my dissertation part time. I would not have been able to keep it up if not for Dr. Schweitzer's encouragement and guidance. He is a very dedicated professor, and has made tremendous impact on my academic pursuit. Thank you, Dr. Bob!

As my heart breaks for a true friend, mentor and father figure for me I would like to offer thoughts and prayers to Mary, Eric and Carolyn for this great loss. I had the pleasure to know him in many different aspects of our lives -- From fixing his computer when I was a student at UD to every sporting event under the sun to Fanfest. I could not have asked for a better role model or friend! He was always there to do things with me and help in any way that he could. There are way too many things to mention that you helped me with and I could not have done without you -- I thank you for every one of them.
You will be sorely missed!
Mary, Eric and Carolyn -- I am so very sorry for your great loss! Always remember the good times and they will help you get through everything!
We will always miss you and think of you Jabob!!

A huge loss for all UD. We never had a business prospect on this campus that Bob did not talk to. He was a GREAT man that always gave back to students, faculty, staff, family and friends. It breaks our heart he is gone. UDVB will always remember Bob.

Dr. Bob was a consummate teacher and a very warm, generous man. I know how much he has meant to the lacrosse community in Delaware and beyond. We are all saddened by his passing. It says a lot about his character that he put so much time and effort into promoting fairness and sportsmanship in athletics. He will certainly be missed, but his legacy will live on. My thoughts and prayers are with his family during this trying time. May God Bless You!

No matter what frustrations he might face as a lacrosse assignor (schedule changes, poor communication, too many games and too few bodies), Bob never lost his equanimity. And spending time with him on the field was always fun. He just loved the sport and loved being out there.
Bob inspired a lot of loyalty through his dedication, sense of humor, and sheer enthusiasm. I feel fortunate to have known him.

I can remember as a player, and later as a coach at Hodgson Vo-Tech, always smiling seeing Mr. Schweitzer walk onto our field before a game. I knew that that win our lose, the game was going to be called fair and square. His love for the sport always resonated to the players. My condolences to his family and the rest of the Delaware Lacrosse Community.

Respect is earned not given. The measure of a man is not by the number of friends he has but by the number of lives he has touched. Rest easy my friend, your journey is over. You have earned the respect of all the lives you have touched. It was an honor to know you.

On behalf of Bob's friends and colleagues at the Graduate School of Banking at LSU, and the scores of students who walked away from his classes enlightened and a tad more curious, Recquiescat In Pace....his intellect, class, common sense, work ethic, energy, humor, and innate goodness will be missed, yet treasured, always. Our thoughts are with you Mary, and your family. Gods Peace to you. May St. Peter have a ready supply of gumbo and Blue Hen peanut M&M's, and the Celestial Orioles always win the pennant....
