On Sept. 5, 2017, of Springfield, PA. Husband of Rosemary (nee Kelly) DiTaranto, father of James (Brenda), Paul, and Michael DiTaranto and Maria (Tom) Johnson, grandfather of 8 and great-grandfather of 3.
Relatives and friends are invited to his Viewing on Saturday, Sept. 9, 2017, after 9:00 A.M. at St. Francis of Assisi Church, 136 Saxer Ave., Springfield, PA, followed immediately by his Funeral Mass at 10:00 A.M. Interment in SS. Peter & Paul Cemetery. Memorial gifts may be made to the above named church or to Maryknoll Sisters, P.O. Box 317, Maryknoll, NY 10545. Arrs.

I just learned of Professor Di Taranto's passing. He was supportive and incredibly helpful to me in my junior and senior years of college. My career was blessed by his help and I will always appreciate it. Best to his family.

Although we were in different departments in the School of Engineering at Widener, I knew Rocco for many years. He was a man of great wisdom, rationality and common sense, and, above all, he was a true gentleman. I will miss him.
