ROSE TWARDZIK Obituary

TWARDZIK
ROSE M. (nee DiStanisloa)

Passed away suddenly on Sept. 22, 2017. Beloved wife of Dr. Mark Twardzik. Loving daughter of the late Theresa and Oswald DiStanisloa. Devoted mother of Mark III (Laura), Jason (Lisa) and Matthew Twardzik. Loving grandmother of Mark IV. She is also survived by her loving sister Lorraine (Frank) Argenzio, devoted sister-in-law Mary DiStanisloa (wife of the late Ozzie), devoted brothers-in-law William Twardzik Esq., and Robert Twardzik. Also survived by many loving nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins, friends, and colleagues.
Rose was born and raised in South Philadelphia. She attended St. Monica's Grade School ('66) and St. Maria Goretti High School ('70). She received her Master's Degree in Special Education from Temple Univ. Rose began her lifelong passion for teaching in the Philadelphia School District at Bryant Elementary School in West Philadelphia. Rose met the love of her life at the Mummer's Parade on New Year's Day of 1972. Their 45-year loving journey together produced 3 beautiful sons. She retired from teaching to raise her family. After relocating to South Jersey, Rose resumed her teaching career in Special Education at her beloved Bells Elementary School. Up to the time of her sudden passing, Rose's love and dedication to her students and colleagues were always on display. Rose was a devout Catholic and had a special devotion to the Blessed Mother. Her faith was the source of her joy and strength. Her family and friends will always remember her for her unconditional love, her beautiful smile, and her many acts of kindness which included her famous butter cookies. In Rose's memory: plant a flower, read a book, and tell someone that you love them.
Relatives and friends are invited to Rose's Visitation and Funeral Mass Friday morning 8:30 A.M. at the National Shrine of St. Rita of Cascia, 1166 S. Broad St, Phila., PA 19146. Funeral Mass to begin 10:00 A.M. Donation if desired in Rose's memory to the above mentioned Church.

I had Mrs. Twardzik as my teacher in 3rd grade. I loved her so much! I always remember telling her how pretty she looked everyday. She was always so full of encouragement and kindness. She is a teacher I will never forget. I still think about her to this day and I will always remember her. I am now in 8th grade and I still miss Mrs. Twardzik! She has a place in my heart forever! She is one of those people who makes a mark on your heart that always stays there!

To my sweet Rose, my forever friend,
We've been friends since we were 18 years old. We went all through Temple together. We rented a home down the shore together. We worked in Gimbels together. We shared a love for cooking and baking and often tried new recipes together. And oh, how we laughed and cried together! I'm still in disbelief of your sudden passing. But your spirit, kindness and friendship will remain in my heart forever. Rest In Peace my dearest friend. Until we meet again.......
Love you always,
Linda Scaricamazza

Rose Twardzik was my daughter MaKayla's 3rd grade teacher, just last year. Makayla loved Mrs. T. So very much, she cried the last day of school because she wouldn't b her teacher anymore. They kept in contact in school this year of course and by emailing each other. The school has lost a wonderful teacher, the children have lost a wonderful friend and mentor, the world has lost a wonderful loving, caring person. God has gained a beautiful, wonderful Angel ! May God bless her family and wrap them in his arms of peace and comfort during this time. To her family.......rest in the peace of knowing that she touched so many lives and will always b remembered fondly!

A special memory MaKayla has of Mrs. T. Other than being an awesome teacher, was Mrs.T's great hug's and how she always looked so pretty.

Mark and family. I was so saddened to receive the devastating news of Rose's passing. I can't imagine how difficult this is for each of you - I know you loved her with all your heart, as she loved each of you.
Rose was the sweetest, most kind and compassionate friend I ever had. Even though it has been more than 20 years since we have been neighbors, I thought of her often and always smiled when I did so.
Mark, Jason and Matthew, she could not have been more proud of you and the young men you have grown into. Mark, you and Rose had such an enviable marriage - you were perfect for one another and your love was always so apparent. You are all in my prayers.
God received another Angel when Rose joined Him in heaven. God bless you Rose. I love you and I will miss your cards.
