Daddy Reuben was the best there ever was! he was a wonderful husband, father, grandfather & surrogate father to those of us who had lost our own. he was truly an officer & a gentleman before the idea became a catch phrase. he was a blessing to know & will be greatly missed. Heaven has gained an exceptional Guardian Angel in him & Mom Betty has regained her hubby. thanks so much to our wonderful sister Shelly for sharing him with all of us. may Our Lord in Heaven continue to bless you tremendously for your generosity. His love will live on in you & yours forever!
with deepest sympathy & undying love always,

Uncle Rueben seemed larger than life as we were growing up. He will always be remembered as a devoted father, loving husband, and wonderful friend. He was a role model to all. Lovingly . .

Rueben Jennings was my godfather and a true man. He loved family and life and lived it to the fullest. I will miss him terribly but know that he is with God and Betty now. There should be more men out here like him who always put family first. You suffer no more, RIP.

We grew up on a blessed street (the 6200 block of Christian St. of Philadelphia, PA) with neighbors who lived and loved and guided with a spirit that is rarely found in today's world. Rueben and Betty Jennings were an integral part of that community. As a police officer, Mr. Jennings brought personal pride and dignity to a department that was not always looked upon favorably. Through his integrity, he showed young kids that there are indeed good men and women committed to serving and protecting our community. His lessons of mutual respect and faithful service are ones that will outlive our lifetimes. Rueben Jennings helped to shape my life and many of those I grew up with.
Thank you for letting us play wall ball on your garage door, Mr. Jennings and please tell Mrs. Jennings how much I appreciated her letting me play on your pool table as a five-year old while she folded laundry.
May God bless your spirit and the lives of those you loved.

Mr. Jennings was a wonderful husband, father, neighbor and police officer. All the kids looked up to him and he always had time for us. Mr. Jennings was the one who encouraged me to join the police department 30 years ago. I'm glad I listened to him! He will always be in our hearts and mind.

Death leaves a heartache no one can heal, love leaves a memory no one can steal. The members of our CopNET family would like to thank Rueben Jennings for his dedication and service to the citizens of Philadelphia. The passing of Rueben will be broadcast to our 3055 members shortly and we would like to extend our sincere condolences to his family. His absence from our ranks will be deeply missed by the remaining members of Philadelphia’s Finest who were fortunate to have served with him during his police career. He will continue in our thoughts and prayers during our remaining days. "Until we meet again, may God Hold you in the palm of his hand. " . . .
