STEPHEN "COACH" on July 25, 2011, age 43, of Bridgeport. Survived by parents, John J. Sr. and Dolores A. (Casper); wife, Melissa M.; son, Conor and daughter, Maeve. Relatives and friends are invited to his Funeral Mass at Mother of Divine Providence Church, 333 Allendale Rd., King of Prussia, PA 19406 on Friday, July 29, 2011 at 11 A.M. Viewing Friday 9:00 to 10:50 A.M. at church. Interment St. Augustine Cemetery, King of Prussia.

Steve is just the greatest guy!! I say "is" because I know he is smiling down from above! He visited my brother and me in Nashville one year and we had THE BEST time laughing and shooting movie scenes from popular films! Just so much fun to be around and a really kool kat!!!

I am so grateful for the 43 years that we were brother/sister and FRIENDS. You accomplished so much in your short life ~ son, brother, father, uncle, brother-in-law; stand-out athlete in grade school, high school, and college! Fantastic teammate, coach and referee. Amazing career with the USPS. Awesome son to Mommy and Daddy and an even better brother to your 9 brothers/sisters. Being a super husband and father came easy to you... your kids are growing up to be just like you ~ loving and caring.

Darn colon cancer! It has been over 2 years since you passed away. Your kids, Conor and Maeve, are JUST. LIKE. YOU. You would be so proud of them. We talk about you every time we are together. I miss you terribly and love you so very much. You were a fantastic brother and son to your brothers/sisters and parents. We played midget football for Coach Stemple for a few years together. Thanks to Facebook, we had recently reconnected. Steve always had something positive to say to me whenever we traded messages. He was one of the good guys.

So sorry to hear this news. Mr. Dollarton was my high school soccer coach from 1993-95 after Kennedy & Kenrick merged. He was a great coach and an even better person. It was a privilege to have been a small part of his life. My thoughts and prayers are with his family.

I knew Steve as a student and then later as a member of the St. Francis Faculty. What a great guy he turned out to be !!

I just heard the news from a friend. I had just talked to Steve just two months ago and we were talking about how he was working to establish a soccer program at MDP and I told him I would help. I am in shock. Steve played soccer for me at Bishop Kenrick back in the mid-80's. He was a great kid. Sorry I could not attend the funeral but I just got out of the hospital. Fran Rubert

Steve was my letter carrier in Blue Bell, and made each day sunny every time he came thru the door. He talked about all of you (Melissa, Conor and Maeve) all the time, he adored his family.
Through his daily deliveries and conversations, we actually found out we knew extended friends of ours and our families.
He will definitely be missed by many. May your memories and stories shared by all help with your grief, and know he is at peace.
