Another year has passed. . ten years since Tom left us. He was a great friend. We used to talk daily and he even lived with my wife and I down in Costa Rica for about six months, where he made so many friends. He always had good stories to tell and he never repeated a story like all of us do when we reach 70 and over! We miss Tom a lot. He spent a Thanksgiving with us about 13 years ago. We went out to eat and the restaurant ran out of turkey! He could NOT believe it and caused an uproar among the managers. My wife is Colombian and he learned a few words in Spanish and he was yelling, "NO PAVO. . NO PAVO". . . which means, "NO TURKEY. . NO TURKEY!" Always fun to talk to and to be with. We miss you, Tom. If anyone who is reading this has a photo of Tom, I sure would appreciate your sending it to [email protected]. Thank you. Skip Licht.

Wow, another year. . every year at this time, I remember my great friend, Tom. I first met him while working with a gourmet bread company in Delray Beach, Florida. His kindness stood out among all the others. We had a great time! A few years later, he actually moved to Costa Rica and lived with my wife's family in San Jose. He had so much fun and met so many people. He practiced his Spanish and loved to take walks all around the neighborhood. He could have been elected MAYOR of that little area of San Jose. . EVERYBODY loved him, his smile and his kind words in broken Spanish! He moved back to Philly after about a year because of health reasons. We stayed in touch daily on the phone. It was the highlight of my day to talk to him. He told so many stories about his life, his time with the police department and SWAT team. He could have written a book. I miss the time I spent with him and my family does as well, both in Costa Rica and South Florida. If anybody wants to hear some good stories about Tom, contact me anytime at [email protected]. God Bless Tom Rambo and may he always rest in peace. .

Another year has passed. . and they pass so quickly it seems. Every year at this time, I especially think of Tom. We were good friends who spoke every day on the phone. Our discussions were anywhere from politics to old police stories! He lived with me and my family in Costa Rica for about six months. I think I could write a book on how he touched so many people there. A new country with no Spanish influence behind him, he still managed to make dozens of friends. By the time he decided to return to the USA, he inspired so many people with his charm, his sense of humor and his love for everyone! I miss Tom and will always have fond memories of my time spent with him. He is missed by my family in Costa Rica and by everyone else who crossed his path! Rest in peace, my friend.
Your friend, Skip Licht - By the way, if anyone has a photo of Tom that they could share with me, I would deeply appreciate it. I have not photos of Tom and would love to post one on my refrigerator! Please send to [email protected] Thank you!

Tom was a great friend. I first met him when he worked at a gourmet bread company in Delray Beach. He was so nice and had so many stories to tell about his life! I knew him for over 8 years. We talked on the phone daily right up until the last day of his life. He spent about 8 months with me and my family at my home in San Jose, Costa Rica. Everybody loved him down there! Even though he didn't speak Spanish, every time he walked into a corner store, everyone knew him and said, "HOLA"! What a great guy. I miss his stories, his zest for life and his views and comments about life in general. Rest in peace, my friend...

I remember Tom as a kind and gentle man. I worked with him when I was in JAD and he was in SDD. When he became Captain, he took me as his Aide. I left the PPD in 1988 and we lost touch. But I often thought of him over the years. Our condolences to his son and daughter. We lost a good man in Tom!
