Vincent McShane Obituary

McSHANE
VINCENT J., SR., of Washington Twp., NJ peacefully on December 16, 2006. Aged 86 years. Beloved husband of the late Theresa. Devoted father of Vincent J. McShane Jr. and his wife Debra and Maureen Grossi and her husband Dominick. Loving grandfather of Patrick, Matthew, Michael, Katie & Jessie. Born and raised in Philadelphia, Vince graduated from Roman Catholic High School. He then served in World War II in the Navy where he earned the Pacific Theatre Ribbon, African Theatre Ribbon and the Victory Medal. After the war, Vince was able to attend college under the GI Bill and graduated from LaSalle University with his Bachelor's Degree and then from Drexel University with his Master's Degree. He later moved to Riverside where he remained for more than 40 years until he moved to Washington Twp. 8 years ago. He worked as a Cost Administrator for RCA, Camden for more than 25 years until his retirement in 1982. In his spare time , Vince enjoyed swimming, playing basketball, watching college football and enduring the Philadelphia Eagles but most of all he treasured the time spent with his family. Vince will be remembered as a loving, generous, hard working husband, father, grandfather and friend. Viewing Thursday morning 8:15 to 10:15 in the McGUINNESS FUNERAL HOME, 573 Egg Harbor Road, Washington Twp. Funeral Mass 11 AM in Our Lady of Lourdes R. C. Church, 500 Greentree Road, Glassboro. Interment Holy Sepulchre Cemetery, Cheltenham, PA. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Roman Catholic high School, 301 N. Broad Street, Philadelphia, PA or to the Holly Dell School, 610 Holly dell Drive, Washington Twp., NJ 08080. Tributes & memories may be shared at: www.mcgfuneral.com
