Jack, Stella, Sam, and Joyce,

We wanted to offer our love, prayers and support to all of you during this difficult time.

When I heard about Bootsie's passing, my heart sank. Our families have always had a special bond, and share so many memories.

Bootsie had so much love in her heart, and she touched a lot of people with her kindness. She was truly special, warm and loving. Bootsie will always be remembered that way.

With love,

Ms. Amodei was my teacher at Sacred Heart in 2 nd and 4 th grades. She helped shape the very person I am today and I couldn't be more grateful to her for that. I am saddened to hear of her passing and extend my families most sincere condolences to the Amodei and McCabe families. May she rest in peace.

Jack, Sam, Stella, Joyce, and Eric,
We thank God for the privilege of knowing Bootsie, and we only wish she had been with us longer. She was a kind, caring, human being and a wonderful addition to the McCabe family. The sumptuous feasts that she so carefully prepared for us are now being enjoyed by her fellow angels in heaven.
Grace and peace,

Mr and Mrs Amodei, Joyce, and Sam,
How sad to hear of Bootsie's passing. Mr and Mrs Amodei, you probably don't remember me, but I was friends with Bootsie at K of P. You both were so kind to include me, occasionally, on your trips to your local pool club and to connect me to a tutoring "job" with one of your neighbor's children. I saw Bootsie, often, while we were attending St. Maria Goretti, and then met up with her again at St. Joe's. I then sub'd for Bootsie at Sacred Heart when she had her heart surgery around 1971. I have thought of and spoken of Bootsie so many times since then. She truly was an extraordinary individual, a true light in this world. Please know that I will pray daily for her intercession now that I know she is blessing us from her new home.
Godspeed, Bootsie. You have physically left us, but you will remain, forever, an angel among us.
My prayers and condolences,

To all of Bootsie's family and friend, I offer my deepest sympathy. Bootsie and I were friends from our days at King of Peace, and the neighborhood.

Even though I haven't seen her in 45 years, I remember what a great person she was. I have read all of the comments that were posted, and I just know every word written about her is true.

May she now rest in peace.

I want to express my thanks for the incredible support Sam, Stella, Joyce, Eric and I have received. As she donated to her countless charities, visited sick parents of Sacred Heart students or neighbors and other acts, Bootsie said if you give it will come back to you. She was so right.
The love and caring she gave to all was astounding. Thank You for giving it back to her through us.
Boots, I want to thank you for the best 22+ years ever. Many great memories. Not a bad day. Not an argument that lasted more than 5 minutes and always ended with a kiss and a hug. I did not deserve such an angel. The rest of my life will be lived by me asking ‘what would Bootsie do?'. The answer is give your heart. Love you honey.

Jack, Mr. and Mrs. Amodei and Joyce,
I was so shocked and sadden to hear that my dearest friend and colleague Violet McCabe passed away. Violet was a remarkable person and she will be greatly missed by me and by everyone who had the pleasure to know her. I had the pleasure to know Violet when we worked side- by -side for several years at Pennsylvania Hospital's Cardiac Catheterization Laboratory in the late 1980s. I will never forget Violet's relentless devotion and commitment to provide high quality and compassionate patient care to all patients. Violet was a giver, kind and she genuinely cared for her co-workers and was always ready to promote positive and caring work environment. She made a difference! She was one of a kind and there was never anyone quite like Violet and never will be again. As you know, I also had the pleasure to know Violet outside work and had the honor and the pleasure to participate on her beautiful wedding day. I regret that I was not able to spend more time with Violet to enjoy her. What an amazing person she was and what a remarkable life she led. I will deeply miss her. May she rest in peace.
I hope, the coming days will bring you hope, give you peace and help you draw strength from the caring hearts around you.
With heartfelt sympathy,

Dear Uncle Jack,
Just to echo the sentiments expressed by Eileen. Thank you for bringing Aunt Bootsie into our lives. She entered all of your nieces and nephews lives with such a zest to get know us and to learn and care about what mattered to us. It was certainly a special relationship to me as I was in those awkward adolescent/teen years. As an adult now that works with new people and families everyday, I can tell you I never met a more authentic, genuinely sweet person. She certainly made an impression on every life she touched. We will forever miss her. Love,

I am deeply sorry to hear about the death of my childhood friend "Bootsie". We were backyard friends, skating buddies and bike riders in our youthful years. Bootsie was always a beautiful and kind friend full of laughter. I ran into her about 6 years ago and recognized her instantly. She had the same youthful face she had as a child and an unmistakable voice. We laughed and shared some experiences in our lives. It was so nice to see her again. Stella, Sam, and Joyce, may your heart and soul find peace and comfort. I'm sure my parents Dee and Al welcomed her to heaven. We shall all meet again as God had promised. Nancy Cosmi Madden

I am so sorry to hear about the passing of my friend, Violet. She was one of my first brides. I did her wedding flowers years ago. She always had a smile and a good word to say about everyone she knew. When my Mom was in the Pennsylvania Hospital in 2004,05, even though she had nothing to do medically with my Mom, she always overlooked her care and always let me know how Mom was. She was that kind of person...loving and caring. I will never forget her and send my condolences to her beloved husband and her family. RIP my friend. Janet Cedrone Alvarez of Cedrone's Flowers

Bootsie and I met at my cousin's house in grade school and were homeroom buddies for four years at Goretti, but we really bonded as we backpacked all through Europe in '69 or '70 with our other friends Lynda and Candy. When four girls are sharing one room in tiny hotels in strange cities and know no one else on a far away continent, they learn quickly to get along and depend on each other. Bootsie was the calming force in all of our adventures. She was attentive, compassionate, and loving, always agreeable, happy, and excited about what we were doing or where we were going next. Whenever we've been together through the years, we could immediately go back to that wonderful time in our lives. We had a girls' night at Popi's a few weeks ago--five friends just talking and laughing for hours. Bootsie, ever thoughtful, brought us all Halloween candy. I was so fortunate to see her often at morning mass at St. Monica's Church. I saw her there a few days before her operation. She stayed for the rosary, so I just went over and kissed her good luck. Her smile on that day was as beautiful and welcoming as on every other day of her life. Bootsie was a true and exquisite person and will be greatly missed! Jack, Mr. and Mrs. Amodei and Joyce, I am so deeply sorry for your loss.

Ms. Amodei taught me in fifth grade. She loved to teach science and was always excited to share her love of learning with us.
