SWARTZ
WALTER J., JR., age 38, suddenly on Sept. 23, 2009. Beloved son of Catherine (Morse) & Walter J. Sr. Loving brother to Stephen (Norah), Carin Vena (Matthew), Margaret, and William. Fun-loving uncle to Timothy, Lindsay, and Alexander Vena and Molly, Doyle, and Owen Swartz. Grandson of Charles Swartz. Also sadly missed by many aunts, uncles, and cousins. Family and friends may call Mon., 6 to 9 P.M. and Tues., 8:30 to 9:30 A.M. at the JAMES J. DOUGHERTY FUNERAL HOME, INC., 2200 Trenton Rd., Levittown. Funeral Mass Tues., 10 A.M. at Queen of the Universe Church. Rite of Committal Resurrection Cem. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Holy Family University, c/o the Walter J. Swartz Jr. Memorial Scholarship Fund, Attn: Institutional Advancement, 9801 Frankford Ave., Philadelphia, PA 19114.

To the Swartz Family,
I am so shocked and extremely saddened to learn of Walt's passing. He was a very special person with such a kind heart! He certainly touched the lives of all those who had the opportunity to know him. I went to HFC '92 with Walt, and I also worked with him at Clover. I am truly blessed to have know Walt, but saddened to have lost the opportunity now to reconnect with him. I will always cherish my memories of Walt...

'Don't put off what you can do today 'til tomorrow for an opportunity may be missed!' I will miss you, Walt!

I met Walt through Jay Rein many years ago. Walt always had a smile on his face whenever I saw him. His sudden passing was a shock to say the least. I will always remember him as a kind, caring person. He will be missed by many!

To The Swartz Family:

Walter was a good friend, generous in spirit, intelligent, thoughtful and always filled with a joie de vivre.

Walt and I were classmates from grade school through high school and later at Slippery Rock University. In those 15 years, Walt was one of my closest friends.

Walter's sudden passing is a terrible tragedy, and news of it is met with shock and sadness by his friends and classmates. Please accept my heartfelt condolences, and know that all of you are in my thoughts and prayers.

To the Swartz Family,
Please accept my deepest condolences on the loss of your beloved Walter. I had the pleasure of teaching Walter in the fifth grade at Holy Innocents School. I use the word "pleasure" because he really was a pleasure. I distinctly remember his demeaner as a happy, helpful and funny boy. I know the pain of losing a son, and I share your grief.
