WILLIAM ASHENFELTER Obituary
WILLIAM NYMAN, 85, of Malvern died on Friday, June 4, 2010 at Neighborhood Hospice. Mr.Ashenfelter died peacefully from complications related to a stroke suffered Tuesday. He is survived by his beloved wife, Barbara, of 57 years and his daughters Mary Jo Heckman (M. Thomas S. Heckman) and Elaine Bednarz (M. Edward L. Bednarz) as well as brothers, Horace III, Donald, and sister Jane Leinbach. Family and friends are invited to a memorial service at Paoli Presbyterian Church on Friday, June 25, 2010 at 11 A.M. In lieu of flowers, memorial contri-butions may be made to Natural Lands Trust, 1031 Palmers Mill Road, Media Pa. 19063 or National Audubon Society, 1201 Pawlings Rd, Audubon, Pa. 19403.

I will always remember Bill's cheerful wave as he passed me on his daily run to the Malvern post office; his kind smile and tall, quiet demeanor; and Bill's warm Christmas Eve welcome to us when we first joined the neighborhood 30 years ago.
Whenever I catch a whiff of cigar smoke on the breeze, I will think of Bill Ashenfelter. He was an old-school, gentle-man.
